To the people who own a 3700 San Diego and overclock, what are your Temps on Load?

Hi, I recently built my first system, all the specs are in my signature.

When I got the system together, it would Idle at 31C and load under prime95 would be at 37C. I now have it overclocked to 2.8GHz and my idle temps are at 33C and load temps under prime95 are at 42C.

I'm almost sure that my load temps are still way below AMD's max temps, but I was just curious how warm other's 3700 SDs are getting when overclocked. If you guys would be kind enough to share your info, that would be great, thanks.

Are you still on stock voltage? Those temps are wonderful.

With an XP-90 and a 50CFM fan, my temps @ 2.8 are around 38C idle and 52-53C loaded...

Nope, not on stock voltage. I'm at 1.475 or there abouts, I know it's less than 1.48. I'll check again once it's done running memtest.

Ahhh....The delta fan that I run is a bit louder than the 50CFM one you have, but according to what you said, it seems to do the job well.

Thanks for the reply

*EDIT*
The computer is half an hour into memtest, give me another half an hour and I'll verify the Voltage for you guys.

when i had my san diego for a day or two... i watched temps get pretty warm... that 1 meg of L2 cache generates a lot of heat compared to the 512kb venice...

temps were hitting into the low 50's at 2.65 to 2.7 ghz

42C at load?! That's astounding!! How is the cooling/ventilation in your system? Not familiar with the Delta fan, but it must be doing the trick for you.

How many CFM does that Delta push? 100?

How many dB?

My Zalman is very quiet @ 2800rpm...

Yes the delta fan does push 100CFM, actually 110.18 CFM, but it does not do it silently.
http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/de92ff.html

And voltage is set to 1.485 in the BIOS but it shows 1.504 on CPU-Z.

I'll take a screenshot of Asus Probe with the temp showing if you guys want to see it, just tell me of a site that I can upload it to.

IM SORRY!!! YOU'LL HAVE TO SPEAK UP!!! I CANT HEAR YOU OVER THE VACUUM!!!

Those temps look pretty chilly compared to most although you are using a much more powerful fan than most.

Keep it going but keep it safe :)

You temps look great! Almost too good to be true, whats the ambient room temp?
Mine runs 38-40c idle and 52-53c load after a few hours of prime, but my room temps are peeking over 80f ( 101-102f outside:()

55db?? I think that would drive me up the wall. I can hardly hear a sound from my computer, but then again I don't really overclock :)

It's a cool 72F right now in the room. It's just a really strong fan. Even with hours of Prime95, I've only seen it hit 44C one time.

Hehe....I swear I barely even notice it at times. The only time I really notice it is when I first walk in the room, after that, it sorta just blends in I guess. But I'm happy with the temp, so it's fine

Wow! 2.8GHz with 1.5V. Is that Prime stable? You mind me asking what your ram is set to? Looks like you have a pretty nice chip.

Temps look about right with that voltage and and XP-90/Delta. Mine would run ~ the same temps with an XP-120 and a 103cfm Sanyo Denki. At least that's what my mobo reported it as.

My Venice 3200+ is strictly stock (Boxed HSF, one case fan, no OC).
It maxes out at 35C using the "Toast" program (which runs a little more intensely than prime95). Idle is in the low 20s...

Idle 35 and load 50, both temps +/- 2 depending on how room temps vary. I use a Zalman 7700Cu at 1500 rpm.

Running at 2.64 Ghz 1.52v

I was thinking my temps were a little high but after seeing everyones responces I'm on par with most of you. I'm using the stock AMD cooler and getting 39c at idle and 51c at full load with Prime95 with a 78F degree room, for the stock cooler I quess thats not too bad.

For now I'm running a 3700 San Diego @ 2.625, 10.5x250 with the ram at 333(ddr400 value ram) and voltage set to 1.475 in the bios but CPU-Z also shows a little over 1.5. I'm stable at this speed but I havent tryed any higher yet, I'm looking for a new cooler.

I had bought a Zalman 7000B-ALCu but the backing plate on the motherboard was stuck on and I didnt want to take the chance of screwing it up by prying it off.

Kman79, did you have to remove your backing plate on your ASUS to fit your heatsink? If so was it glued? Also whats the highest clock speed you got with your value ram before you switched? Your temps are great by the way, nice!!!!

I'm using Crucial Ballistix PC4000 memory. Timings are at 3-4-4-10 at 2.85V, it can probably go to 3-3-3-8, I was working more on a faster FSB. Its set to 255X11. It was only prime95 stable for 5 hours and 36 minutes last night. I'm almost sure it'll be stable for 12 hours or more if I up the voltages more, but I'm new to modding computers and overclocking and I'm a bit paranoid about running higher voltage. I tested the memory to be memtest stable for 4 hours at 270MHz at 3-4-4-10 so I know it's not the memory, the chip just wants more volts, I just wish I know what the max volts are. I can't find out what what the max volts the chip can take, does anyone know?

I was running at 2.7GHz running at DDR333. The Value Select would OC up to 215Mhz. I didn't have to remove th backplate to install the heatsink. It uses the same backplate so it didn't have to be replaced. But when I unscrewed the plastic bracket the backplate came off on it's own. Can you tug on it a little by hand and have it come off?
