Why should I be banned? First of all it isn't his wife. Second of all there is no rule against hurting someone's feelings. It wasn't as if I was completely horrible about it. I agreed with another poster, mainly because of oniq and tinkerhell's arrogance and BS that they spout. There's a reason why I NEVER posted pictures of my SO either. I'm not into getting flames(whether they be serious or personal), so I won't set myself up for it. What he did was outside the domain of the forums. I've hardly been posting on this forum because it is going to such sh!t.

No, there isn't a rule about hurting someone's feelings. You weren't the only one in that thread without a shred of class. What he did was completely out of line. What you did just showed everyone what a jerk you can be.

I take it you've never read the posts of oniq or tinkerhell? There's a difference in people being jerks to each other on a message board and spamming someone's e-mail box. It would be akin to you and I calling each other names and then you coming and salting my lawn or trenching my yard. Not even close to being the same thing.

It's SPAM! Your example is way out of proportion. It's like each of you calling each other names, and him giving you the bird.

Just because one plays within the bounds of the rules, doesn't automatically make it right. If someone said something nasty about someone i cared about, i would be very upset too.

There's a PM button above my name, and I have an e-mail address at which someone can send me a non-spam e-mail. If he was upset he can click on either one and tell me so. He doesn't have to try to attempt to be an anonymous coward and spam my box.

At least you can sleep easy with the revenge of knowing he has to spam that girl's box. :p

Best example: It's like you exchanging mean words with one another and him stuffing your mailbox with letters. Maybe that example is too close to the real thing actually.

What's cowardly about it? People generally only understand their own language. He spoke yours well enough to upset you as much as you upset him. Stop whining and try acting like someone who's older than 12 in the future. Even if you're not.

Why should I have to pull punches just because someone is a reactionary freakshow? Not my problem.

The reason America is great is not because we have the right to free speech but because her citizens know how to use that right effectively enough to not cause hatred and revolution.

That's BS. We are given the right to free speech to effectively incite revolution towards anything we consider wrong.

Good Job CPA for arguing semantics on a statement that I intended to remind people that we should set limits to our free speech if we know it's obviously going to cause problems for ourselves and others. Take your arguments to P&N.

Uh, no. Set your own limits, but don't be calling for others to just so everyone is nice and politically correct.

I completely disagree. Spam is a continual problem, and my e-mail has been spam bombed by numerous people over the years on AT. It gets very old very fast. I'd love to be able to use a free e-mail account and just let it collect the crap that people sign me up for. I wish I'd have used my work e-mail now...

I'm trying to tell him how you can prevent getting spammed to hell in the future - by limiting the derogatory remarks you say to others. I'm not talking about the United States as a whole buddy, nor do I intend to force anyone to adhere to what I said. It's how I believe Mill can avoid getting his mailbox "pr0nified" again.

And let it rest with this. There's a PM button if you want to continue

By the way, no hard feelings! :D

Do you own your own domain? Set up an email address that is used ONLY for your AT profile. Then, if it all goes to sh1t again, delete the account and make another.

Because while you may hope that nobody takes action for offenses you put forth on them, reality is that isn't always the case. Would you provoke a big dude on the street for no reason ? Be smart about things... because they don't always turn out the way they *should* or within the realm of any rules. You don't control everyone... so when you piss off the wrong person... well you know.

If you had used your work address you'd possibly have something impressive to get someone to do something.

You did PM all this information to the mods right?

Other than your lame attempts to sidetrack the thread and flame without reason, do you have a cogent point? Other than the language in my thread title what have I done that was immature? If I was immature I would have used a proxy and spammed him back. I didn't and I wouldn't ever do that. Spam is a pet peeve of mine. I also didn't whine about anything. I did something about it. For some odd reason you are carrying another argument over into this thread. Get it out of your system. Tell me what you are really upset about, because it is obviously not what I said. Finally, I'm not upset as to be doing something irrational. I'm being very logical in my thought process(which logical is not spamming someone).

Yes, they were PMed. If I'd have used my work address it would have been great. I'm one of the IT administrators, so I'd have oodles of things that could be done.
