What's the law in Alberta concering getting kicked out of a place? I know in some places here in the states you cannot kick someone out/change the locks and stuff like that. May want to check that out before you do it. No need to get yourself into more headache.

I think that those types of laws only apply to someone who is renting, not staying for free as a guest....

He said she payed him $300 and she could say that was for rent. I just don't want the OP to get into any more unneeded stress.

since its brought up...what are the odds shed run to a cop or a lawyer. OP?

very low. She has other issues from her past. She hates cops....

Who knows. Most of those stoner kids try to know about a whole bunch of laws. Just thought I'd bring it up.

Doesn't sound like there was ever anything written or signed for it to count as rent. They're the owners and I'm willing to bet if she does bring the cops, when they hear their story they'll laugh at the gf's sister's claim and won't do a thing for her. Bonus points if OP really shows maturity with his manners and language in front of the boys in blue.

Or that $300 could be considered repayment for food she consumed, etc...

You'd think so...but not usually.

Once they're there long enough to establish residence, you usually have to formally evict them...and without a written agreement to pay, you generally can't use a 3 day pay or move...you have to give them 30 days.

Like someone else mentioned.
WTF did you put that in there? Everything up to that point was firm and demeaning, then that last part makes you sound like a push over.

And laughing at your g/f after she told her sister to get out isn't pushing it? That woman needs to gtfo.

She doesn't know this, and is unlikely to learn about it, either.

OP, ditch the letter. If she sasses you back to your face, the letter will achieve nothing.

What you need to do now is calm down. Adding more heat and personal friction to a dispute with an emotional douche will only aggravate the situation unnecessarily.

So, tomorrow you will know whether you will carry through on your threat or not? Ok (no wonder she pays you little heed; never cry wolf.)

Tomorrow, it you want her out, approach her WITH YOUR GF and calmly, even resignedly (as if this were a problem caused by neither of you but merely some inescapable act of God) and tell her the end has been reached and she has to leave now, today.

When she goes to argue with you, outline to her firmly and clearly ONE TIME all the times she has broken your trust and disregarded her wishes. You need do no more than that, and, getting into an emotional argument with her will only aggravate the situation.

Be firm, be conclusive, let her rage and cry and scream, just don't get sucked into it personally. Make sure she can't lock herself in "her room" or in the bathroom, and go 'git her done.

If, tomorrow, you change your mind and pussy out or whatever, just make sure you come and post all of that here in painful detail so that we perfect titans of manhood can point and make vicious sport of you. ;)

Sorry to hear about your problems. Sometimes when you help people over and over you are just enabling them to never deal with their problems.

I think removing her from your home is the best thing to do - not only is she not dealing with her problems but she is also causing undue stress on you and your girlfriend which is not cool.

Good luck with whatever you decide.
