Alcohol and tobacco kill FAR more people in a year than pot ever could. Yet, the government says pot is more evil.😕

maybe because a hugely larger number of people drink and use tobacco, lol arguments like this just show what pot will do to ya.

Not true and you know it. Do you have any idea how many people use pot in the US? The US government seizes Billions of dollars worth every year and can't even put a dent in the trade. Law enforcement has basically admitted that is is impossible to stop the volume entering the country. I could make one call and have some in 30 minutes.

For the record: I do not smoke.

I can shoot the theory down that pot leads to harsher drugs. I smoked enough dope to make a raft that would float three cuban families on it from the time I was 15-25 and I was but I never had no desire to do crank,Acid or Cocaine.Oh, I used to smoke hash and Tai stick when it came down the grape vine but they are pretty much in the same class as weed.

Im exactly the same except i still toke, never once have i been tempted to try anything harder

I think the OP needs to get off blaming the drugs and get his brother some mental help.
People like him never seem to accept that maybe a family member is mentally ill and instead blame
outside influences. This vicious cycle does nothing but pull his brother deeper into drug use as no one
will recognize that he may have mental illness. A good friend of mine went crazy too and he turned out to
be bipolar. Wake up and smell the coffee dude..your brother needs mental help.

The way the OP talks it sounds like an issue that has arisin because an intelligent, creative person grew up in a repressed family, which led to all kinds of issues, for which he started self medicating. Instead of giving him real emotional support the family gave denial filled support with a heavy dose of opprobrium. I could be WAY off base here, but the OP's insistence on passing the buck onto something that he obviously doesn't understand leads me to believe that they have some hidden family issues.

AHAHA. so because a large number of people use it, its ok? government fud is what got marijuana labeled as a useless narcotic in the hay day of cracking down on foreigners who used it(namly mexicans)

if you havnt noticed a hugely large number of people smoke marijuana too.

let me light a bowl with the flames from this war.

I honestly think it depends on the person. I've come to know someone who smokes it for the pain in their back and hips and it's only when the pain gets so great that he can't handle it anymore. He's not some lowlife idiot that smokes it constantly not doing anything with his life. But he's the only person I know who smokes pot and isn't like that.

I sat in a class presentation a couple of years back that talked about
how so many work place injuries and auto accidents are the result of
weed use.

They showed that it messed up depth perception and why a lot of
rear end wrecks are blamed on it.

Thanks but you are way off.

Listen, I am not saying that pot is only to blame.. I have in the past realized that each person is responsible for their own actions, and yes my brother is to blame for his current situation. However, I cannot (or will not) give up on the fact that pot helped him in his race to fvck himself.

Trust me. It's not the weed but your own brother himself.
If you really think he's insane, then check him in a mental insititution.
I've seen many people gone crazy without taking any drugs.
Of course, you can blame the pot or pepsi, steak, bacon, eggs, Doom3...etc, if that makes you feel better.

Goes without saying that you shouldn't drive on any mind-altering substance. Personally I've been high countless times driving and have had no problems but YMMV. The traffic situation is a little different around here too (small city, no highways).

How come all the pot smokers I know are successful professionals? Oh wait, it's because I don't hang out with losers. Pot has nothing to do with it. Granted they do smoke in moderation. But that's how it is with everything in life. And no, I don't smoke weed.

There is no way just weed could fvck you up that bad. You said his heart was racing....I wouldn't doubt if he was doing meth and cocaine. I would force your brother to get help. If you don't he will die a young man.

Sysadmin

Cocaine wouldn't cause that kind gibberish.

That's what I'm coming to realize. 🙂

I know at least five people personally that do it every day, after work. These are all people with professional, salaried jobs. They were also all in the military at some point. Only one of them has ever done any other illegal drug, and he's an old fart who was a teenager at the tail end of the 60s 😉.
While selling door-to-door across this country, I also met a great number of people who I was surprised by when they pulled out their paraphernelia. There are a large number of responsible smokers in this country; surprisingly they don't run around announcing that they do it, or indeed exhibit any external sign of being a smoker.

I'm not gonna lie, I have experimented... I tried pot, I tried X, did it a bunch of times... then decided that I didn't need to do it... and stopped... Some of my friends still do it, I don't hold it against them in anyway... (it was fun when I did it, and I don't regret anything)... In my opinion you need to know your limits... alcohol can do the same thing, but you learn your limits... I don't know...

thats my 2 cents...

If you actually wanted to help your brother, instead of sh!t on him, then you would stop blaming pot and saying that he "fvcked himself." He isn't "fvcked," he is mentally ill. Give him support, not blame, not condescention. Be a good brother, not an asshole. You can help him, but not with that attitude.

Reading this stupid thread, I'm reminded of the anti-pot commercial from Harold and Kumar go to White Castle 😀

Time to face reality kiddo. Getting anyone real mental help is incredibly difficult. Sure it's easy to say - just take them to the Dr and their problems are solved. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. Many mentally ill people don't want to get help or even recognized they have a problem.

Well that's a totally different topic. Of course you're not supposed to drive or work when taking mind-altering substances, whether it be weed or alcohol. That's just common sense. In that vein, I try not to even drive or work if I have bad allergies and have taken a few benedryl or other antihistamines!

Serial killers put on pants one leg at a time. I think we should ban that method of putting on pants because serial killers do it.

There are plenty of people who smoke pot and that is about as far as they go. Just because your brother used pot and it led him to do stronger drugs doesn't mean pot was the culprit in your brother's hullicination. He is an idiot for choosing to do drugs in the first place. Drugs didn't force your brother to start using them so he, along with you, have no one to blame but the drug user.
