Greetings.Because a few of you have expressed an interest in displaying your membership to Team Anandtech in ways other than the confines of the forum,I,along with Virge and Beefcake have come up with a way to provide you the means to do so.

Soon,( IT'S HERE--LINK BELOW )Narzy and Tripleshot will launch a website where you will be able to see polo shirts,hats,totes,tshirts that I can make available.Before any ordering would take place,we want your input for the selection of a logo.I will put up a couple options as well as you, the members, may add yours.

After about 2 weeks,and with sufficient notice,we will cast our vote for the logo that best represents the sentiments of Team Anandtech.

I hope there is support for this effort as I will be putting my money in to get this started.If you think you may want to purchase any shirt,hat or other item or if you think of other things you might like to have branded,please post in this thread.

Your response will guide our next actions.All of the products I am representing here are from a national well known corporation and the embroidery work is done in the fine state of Kentucky.I will take steps for those in other countries to be able to obtain these items as well.

There will need to be written express permission from the owner of the logo selected before the logo will be accepted for use. Please keep that in mind when you make your submissions.

To spur compition for a logo, I am offering a free Team Anandtech hat and pocket T for the selected winner of the logo contest.

Just to be fair,There will be a random drawing for a free gift from a list of all who vote and participate (excluded are the insiders of the website and thier affiliates-LOL) in the Team Anandtech Distributed Computing Logo contest.

Team Anandtech.I think we are the best,most powerful and carismatic bunch of geeks on the planet! And, when I walk into an establishment wearing a daper shirt or hat and people see I belong to Team Anandtech,they may ask what is that.I can proudly say,&quot;On the web,it is the only place to get up to date info about computing from proffesional and ametuer computer pros from around the world.If we can't fix it,no one can!&quot;

Good observation.I have discussed this with the people who designed the logo you see when you check your stats at RC5 and we have permission.When the website is up for you to add your logo design,We will ask for permission to use your submitted entry if it is voted on to be the representation you the members want.Nothing will be used that we do not have permission for.

In answer to your question,the money you would spend for a shirt or hat or any item will go for the cost of providing that sale IE;design,sizing,shipping,handling,inventory,service before and after the sale,all costs associated wityh administration of the sale.That doesn't leave much room for anything else if we are going to keep the prices at a point you would be willing to pay.
I can tell you that I am trying to keep the polo shirts in the $20-30 range,hats under $10 and Totes under $10,T shirts under $10 if I can. I haven't added the cost of shipping,but it shouldn't be anywhere near what I'm used to shipping computers and monitors.

I will keep your offer in mind. Thank you

Those prices would be VERY reasonable. I would buy more just to distribute around. But then again. Why would I want to do that? If I am walking in the mall of america and someone else is wearing the shirt. I would just go nutz and chase him down just to find out what his nick was. (If we didn't have our Nicks on the back of the T's )

I can't wait to see this all working. Way to go guys. All this hard work will turn out for the best.

Do you think you could make a mock up of your idea for the logo and send it to Virge at his email?I just sent him some pics and he is feverishly trying to put a page up for all the members to view in between his many other projects.This is kind of new to us all and we are working without a net(pun intended).In the next few days,things will smooth out.I am as anxious as you.I couldn't find anyone else to do this so I decided to do it myself. I will be ordering some test shirts next week.I bet you can guess who will get the first.

BTW, I think you could also sell about a ZILLION computer stickers! You know, like the ones that say &quot;INTEL INSIDE&quot; or have the brand name on OEM machines. I know I'd paste them all over my herd and they should be relativly cheap in bulk!

also on the pricing, a shirt for 10 bucks Cheap! most shirts are like 14 bucks and up, and a polo for under 30 bucks wow. maybe we should charge a little extra and creat an account for mika and all so that we can keep the equipment up and running. or payback members who have contributed alot of money to the cause, or even give the proceedes to charity. who knows...

Nice job Tim.I don't have the authorization to use your site from our leader.A call has been made.I will keep you informed.Websites are easy enough to put together but not quite so easy when you need ssl and the ability to pay by credit card and such and it must be administered to all day.What do you charge for website development?That would be an example of part of the cost to put a TA gear store together.I just noticed from your profile you are from Salem.Could you give Virge a call? He is working on something now for us.You two should get together.

CC is no problem I have SSL on the server. I can and will also set you up admin accounts on the server, all I have to do is give them a call to activate it, I am using Interland, also I would be happy to work with Virge he and I know each other (we go to school together) I dont have his phone number but I do have his E-mail address and I will drop him a line.

do I do this for a living? yes and no: I do do web design and plan to charge for my work but as for yet I have not charged for any of the work that I have done I guess my payment is the smiles I see on peoples faces when I show them the work that I have done.
