This is getting better and better.I also contacted Virge.It will be at least 2 weeks before a vote on the logo will take place and after that I would be ready to setup the cc stuff.I have cc on my e site now.I would want to continue to use it as I am already paying the fees on it.The administration is all we need after that.I will maintain contact.
 
Joy...its easyer for us to use somthing that is already in place anyhow 🙂 . so maybe just some inclusion instruction on the site for orders (so that ppl dont have to leave one site and go to another to order) and wallla we have an E-commerce solution.

we also may want to make PayPal available to people, like myself who does not have a credit card and such because I am only 15.

anyway these are just ideas.

You can try for a winning logo.It may be on jerseys all over the world if it is voted to be the Team Anandtech logo for distributed computing. Go for it.

If you need further web assistance, I am currently a web designer/programmer and could help/do any shopping cart design/SSL implementation or any other assistance that might be needed. I also have hosting capability with my servers.

That's ok a double post- -a nice bump

We appreciate the offers for website design and hosting but right now We are interested in determining how successful a gear store would be and how to effectively manage it.Becuase of demigraphics,that does become a liabilty splitting it up.So these 2 weeks are for getting input as to what you want in a store and designing the logo that you would like embroidered on your shirt or hat or mug or whatever.

At this stage we have a site that will be up soon to view the product and to post the logo designs.

I understand the whole process in setting something like this up! and thanks for taking the initiative to do something like this... I wouldn't mind seeing the products with the logo/name and maybe your ID number or the stats link. I for one, (and I know there are many more out there) will buy one.

I would be more than willing to setup a poll (similiar to Anandtech's) to help with the voting portion of the logos...

And please let me know if you need any assitance in the web portion (when that comes along).

 
I certainly will.embroidering your name or stats link or anything else can be done for an additional fee according to my supplier.That is why I chose this supplier. you can see though the logistics of managing this will take alot of ones time.Thats why I neeed to see if the response will justify the effort. So far, I am impressed. 😀
 
Heck yeah! I'd buy a couple polos and tshirts! I don't think I can be of much help to get things going, but I'm glad to lend morale support 🙂
 
I have stylish long sleeve mock T's and pocket T's.I would not embroider a T shirt.I would screenprint. I know Virge likes the long sleeve and he says it will be displayed (if he can finish) on the website.Those that want a short sleeve pocket T will have to let me know because there is only so much room on the site for product as I understand it. That, as everything, is subject to change.

I'd go for the screened pocket-T and a baseball cap.
Would also like to see a window sticker.
I'll try my hand at working up a logo too. What size should the logo be for best reproduction and who should it be sent to?

I'd go for the logo without the globe. Great idea guys, i'll go for it. Every Football/Baseball/Basketball/Soccer fan can easily purchase almost everything in his/her favourite team's colours and what about us, working on mankinds most important problems ?😉
 
I also Express my interest into Anandtech Stickers, Bumper stickers in perticular, thing to slap onto my case, or slap onto car, or slap onto government property like road signs! 🙂 j/k This sounds like a great idea and i know i'll be buying anandtech gear 🙂
