Was driving my 2005 titan yesterday and it started cutting out on me. Felt as if it was intermittently getting fuel while going up a slight incline. The more gas I gave it, the worse it would get it seemed. I finally made it up the incline at 40 mph and then was able to get into town where I stopped at a gas station. I put 4 gallons in the truck but it already had 1/2 tank in it. I then turned it back on and it was fine for the return trip back to my house at highway speeds (70mph) and for trips throughout town yesterday afternoon. No CEL came on and there are no stored codes.

Based on what I've read on the titan forums, there is a good chance my fuel pump is starting to go out. I just dropped the tank last month to put a new fuel pressure sending unit on it so it won't be super difficult to do it again, just not something I was looking forward to doing.

Any other ideas? Spark plugs were changed last month as well. I probably put 30 miles on it since I had the problem and it hasn't come back, but it sure felt weird. I thought it could also be the throttle position sender unit going bad, but those usually just fail or work. No leaks under the truck or anything like that either, just a weird problem that, to me, felt fuel related.

Did you have the IDPM recall done on your truck?

Yes. More specifically, I took it in and they said mine was either not covered or had already been replaced. I had them check the fuel sender unit at the same time and it was not covered either as well as the condenser fan and it was fine. So, they didn't replace anything. I might just go pick up another ECM relay just for kicks as well.

There is a recall for all Titans for the IDPM. Also, there is a recall for 2005+ on the fuel sending unit.

IDPM starts failing and it has the potential to do all kinds of weird shit.

True on both accounts but not all 2005 vehicles. I took my truck in and was not eligible for either due to my VIN which is why I had to replace my sender unit myself.

The IDPM recall is for all early Titans, up to 09 I think..doesn't matter the vin.

Sounds like the dealer is jacking you around or they do not know what the are talking about.

They didn't replace it. They must have said it was already replaced then because my dealership is really good imho (I've owned several nissans and they have always been friendly and professional with me)
