I visited the Dominican Republic 2 weeks ago. Small motorcycles (100-125cc) comprise 90% of the transportation there, and you often would see them zipping around with 2 riders - a driver and the passenger holding several rebar, 2x4s, etc. It was quite comical - I wish I'd had my camera at the time.

when i set up my first fish tank i only had a motorcycle as transpo. the wife was on the back reaching around me, holding the tank that was sitting on my lap and the gas tank, with all the stuff inside of it. we were only going a few miles, but im sure many people thought we were idiots lol.

The most I've had in the bed of my truck was about 3000 lbs of concrete.

ive had a ton of block, pipe and such in the bed of my truck on many occasions. i regularly transport mats to job sites that wouldnt fit in a car. i also use it to pick up and deliver computer systems, usually in boxes that wouldnt fit in the back seat of a car. they barely fit one at a time in my old intrepids trunk. some people actually use their trucks as intended, but even if not. if they like having a truck, let them. they are paying the extra cost, not you. you as in the guy complaining, not you specifically...

Eh? My 2008 Volvo S60 weighs more than that, and I get way more than twice that mileage. What are you driving?

Me too!!!! Getting only 30+ sucks .......

Actually I misread at first. My explorer only gets about 18, and I just picked up a 98 C1500 pickup that gets about 20. But the Explorer is going to be sold and the Chevy doesn't get driven much.

Z28 in the sig. Suprisingly it gets neat 30 on the highway but sadly, MAYBE 10 in the city.

M3 gets an average of 21mpg, but if I drive like a Nun I can get 31.5mpg out of it.

I don't drive like a Nun.

Where you doing it all in 2nd gear?

lol no that's cruising at around 3k rpm in 5th. Not really geared for Hwy cruising but I didn't buy it for the mpg.

My '08 BMW M3 hovers around 17.9 mpg in a combination of freeway and street driving.

Its amazing how much fuel gets consumed as you edge towards 30psi of boost :p

except your hovering around 19-21psi

My V8 can get excellent mileage on the highway, but in the city it can be brought down to 15-17L/100KM (whatever that is in archaic Imperial).

Should get worse when the Kenne Bell 2.6L Blower is bolted on.

Depends what gear Im in. Higher gears push higher boost. I said edging towards 30 too, which is the target when my new block goes in hopefully next month.

I've managed to stay at zero psi for an entire tank one time and got like 26 mpg. If I break the boost gauge often I get something like 8 mpg :)

Tire prices bother me more than gas prices though :(
