My 88 cherokee gets over 30 MPG on occasion whilst doing 55 in 5th gear. At that point I barely have to touch the gas pedal to keep it going. *This is on flat stretches of highway, climbing hills causing me to downshift would kill the mpg*

1994 Dodge Dakota 4x4 with the 318. Even with the 3.55 diff it only gets 17 highway and around 14 city. When I pull my boat to the lake, I get 12 mpg.
Oh, and my boat gets 5 mpg or less. (5 is at cruising speed.)

I have always owned a truck, and likely always will, they're too useful to ignore their utility.

I love watching some fool jam a mower into their nice car to get it serviced :)

F250SD 7.3L Ford, 18-20 mpg.

Some people own trucks so they can put a few 2x4's in the back and say they are a contractor.

I visited the Dominican Republic 2 weeks ago. Small motorcycles (100-125cc) comprise 90% of the transportation there, and you often would see them zipping around with 2 riders - a driver and the passenger holding several rebar, 2x4s, etc. It was quite comical - I wish I'd had my camera at the time.

Another one for the "my car gets truck mileage" crowd.

1997 Lincoln Town Car, currenlty averaging about 18mpg mixed driving (most distance is on highway, by far most time is on surface streets in traffic).

When I bought the car it was doing closer to 20 in the same conditions. Tire pressure are good, but the engine engine could use some attention. Still runs pretty good and still hasn't stranded me.

I commute in a Prius that averages 50MPG.
To make up for it, my weekend vehicle is a lifted Jeep that gets about 12 MPG. It makes Al Gore cry...

I'm lucky to get 21 or 22 with my 2005 Tacoma....around town I get closer to 17-18. The auto version of my car actually gets better gas mileage...but I'd much rather put up with a little worse gas mileage and drive a stick.

My 03 Jeep wrangler 4.0 gets 15 if I'm lucky and I could care less. I only have to go about 7 miles to work so it's no big deal. I didn't buy if for the mileage.

V12? If so, how is it still on the road? :D

Unless you have a good mechanic and some dough for repair bills, chances are it is fast approaching LeMons material... :p

The most I've had in the bed of my truck was about 3000 lbs of concrete.

My sedan weighs 3400lbs or so and manages a whole 12mpg with mixed driving. Thinking about looking for alternate transportation soon.
