No tip for you!!!
Too bad - I guess no good service for you. If I'm delivering to a known cheapskate/no tipper, I tend to have to stop at the gas station and fill up my gas tank (well, it's got to be done some time), maybe take a couple of detours, or some other orders before yours because it's obvious other customers will be paying me for my better service.
Guaranteeing that you never get a tip from that customer EVER. And possibly resulting in lost business for your restaurant which means they have less ability to maintain your employment. And, for all you know, it was initial poor service without any attempt at amends that caused that customer to get his reputation for poor tipping... and now you continue that poor service. Nice work, idiot.

Get a clue. When I worked food service, I treated all customers well, regardless of their reputations, and ALWAYS made the most tips in the restaurant. While some customers always stiff, others just need a chance to be treated right for once.

You have obviously not worked in food service. At the last resuraunt I worked at waitresses made $2.35/h plus tips. If it were not for tips they would be broke. Luckily not everybody thinks like you and those girls averaged $125- $200 a night. I have worked as a bartender and dj/ bouncer for tips only. The only reason your pizza doesn't cost $5 more now is because of people tipping. Most delivery drivers make a very small wage, don't get reimbursed for gas, and depend on people like you not being assholes but since there are so many like you I now have to pay a delivery charge for my pizza.

The reason I will not order pizza from your crappy establishment is because it's cheaper to drive my @ss to Little Caesar's and pick up my $5 large pizza (only two blocks away). IF you're a waiter/ess, you are requireed by law to be paid at least minimum wage if your tips do not equal what you would have made earning minimum wage. If you want a tip, you gotta deserve a tip. If my glass is EVER left without any water/soda/juice, YOU GET NO TIP!!! THis is the simplest measuring stick for me. IF you want my hard earned money, show me you're worth it!!! I worked in sales for a while, I only got paid if my show convinced the potential buyer that he should fork over the money to buy the product!!!! Like it or not, if you're a delivery driver I see no reason to buy your pizza when it can be picked up for half the price, period. IF you're a waiter/ess, then your show should convince me to pay you more, your $2.35/hr is what you deserve to bring my meal to the table, it's not a hard job, and a lot of places don't even need you anymore!!! You want more money, earn it lazy...

i doubt wages would be that low if tips weren't so lucrative. i'd rather pay more for the food and have the employees be paid a proper amount.

ps. i tip.

That was the standard rate for waitresses ($2.35/h). It was lucrative where I was but the girls at the other places (huddle house, denny's) were not making near that much money.

seriously, do you tip the guy who delivers toner catridges to your office? Do you tip the Office Depot/Max/Staples/FedEx/UPS guy who makes deliveries to your house? I don't see why delivery drivers should get tips, it's your job!!! Poor kids have to drive their own cars? Boo-hoo...find a job that will pay you for gas, or provide a vehicle for you to take...it's not hard...lazy... quit complaining, at least you've got a job...

Also when I worked at Pizza Hut the delivery drivers made as much as everyone else. At least 6-8 an hour. not that its much but with tips they made a killing. I think most places use tips to give everyone less money in wages/taxes.

Oooh ... minimum wage. Please multiply the current min. wage by 40 and subtract your rent asshat.

I never tip. Tried once, but the UPS guy said he couldn't accept it and the broad that brings Fedex packages always tosses the stuff at the door and leaves without knocking.

a pizza delivery job isn't meant to be a full-time career that you'd settle into. i think min. wage + mileage is fair.

You sir, are an ass. Just because you don't anticipate a tip, which is NOT required, doesn't mean you can slack off on your REQUIRED duties.

I agree. Why do I have to tip more than $1 to get my pizza delivered on time as promised by the pizzeria?

I live ten miles from the pizza shop. They have to drive 8 miles up into the mountains on asphalt, then two on gravel. It takes a half hour round trip. I tip at least TEN dollars. If I'm too lazy to go, I just tip well. They'd never come back if I didn't tip well. Heh, I'm usually too cheap, only had them deliver once so far.

Yes the employer is supposed to make up the difference if the wages + tips don't equal minimum wage..

a pizza delivery job isn't meant to be a full-time career that you'd settle into. i think min. wage + mileage is fair.

Pizza Delivery isn't the only job that depends on tips. Your assuming that these people only deserve min. wage. Employers pay minimum wage because tips are there to make a decent wage. No you don't settle in to a min. wage job for a career but you also won't have much of a stepping stone either. It is nearly impossible to live on minimum wage.

You're a fool for just blindly paying tips...next time your at a resturaunt, take a look around. If the waiter has an area covering 10 tables, and a turn over of each table every hour.even at 50% capacity, if every table leaves just two dollars tip, then over an hour that waiter makes $10 an hour, before their wage! I don't think a waiter is worth $10 an hour!!! On a busy night at 100% capaciy that's $20/hr!!!! Even if you only get a cut, that's still more money than minimum wage!!!

I purposely work in the non-services/sales field because I didn't like not knowing how much my next paycheck would be. As a fulltime student, I am still able to work 38 hours a week, able to pay all the bills, RENT, broadband internet, a cellphone, auto insurance, etc!!! I don't live at home, and Mom or Dad hasn't bought me anything!!! and I live in a low wage college town...losers...

If you're complaining about being a waiter/ess, why do you continue to work as ONE!!!! Are you RETARDED!!!! There ARE other jobs out there, get one!!! You are obvioulsy making enough money to be a waiter and not have me fork over my money for your lousy service!

Another hint: Get married. Living in a two income home is great. So grow some balls, work out a bit, get a girlfriend, don't let her see your porn addiction, get her to marry you, then live in a two income home!!!

A tip of 15% is expected and has become customary. Yes most make good money because of that but would not if everyone had your attitude. Also most waitresses have to tipout the Hostess, bussboy, dishwasher, and bartender so they don't get all the money.

I'm 30. I own (not rent, mortgage) my house, I own not lease/make payments on two cars. I have worked 2 jobs since I was 18. My main job and an extra money job to allow me to own things instead of paying them off over long periods of time. One of the best ways for me to do that was to work in food servive/ entertainment where I personally see the other side of this story..
I still work weekends as a bouncer to give me pocket money so I can bankroll my paycheck (and the wifes) so I can retire early.

I have a two income home (own it), balls, I'm pretty built, got, a wife, she loves porn.

Please remember not every body you meet here is a skinny pimple faced geek with no life (no offense to anyone this may apply too).

Since you seem to like personal attacks about weight and fitness heres one-

You need to hit the gym yourself and keep your wife the fvck away from the

cake.
Edit: Consider that a .tip

I hate these threads and make it a point not to post in them... these threads always seem to bring out the cheap ass idiot that thinks everyone should serve them for free.

Kanalua, you have never worked in the service industry I know this not because you said that you never have but because of your attitude towards that industry. If you think that waiting tables is not hard you are an idiot!! I'd like to see you take those same 10 tables you mention, load them up with people and have them all place orders at the same time... and then imagine you are sitting at one of the tables treating the wait staff like you normally do... do you really want to be treated that way?? Do you want some a$$hole judging your every move?? Do you want some idiot to not tip you just because his glass of water sat empty for more then a minute?? I dont think any decent human being would want any of that to happen to them...

In college, we'd tip the pizza guy (a friend of ours) a couple bongloads. We'd get our pizza for free and he'd stop at the liquor store for us on the way over if we asked. We got real fat those months.

I don't want that to happen to me...THAT'S WHY I'M NOT A WAITER!!!! I actually worked in resturaunt industry. I was a cook, night manager, casheir and busboy at a Hawaiian Food Joint. In a college town none-the-less, you don't know sh!t about my job history. When I was manager I killed people with service. It was a laid back polynesian joint (I'm Hawaiian) and of all the places in town, we made a nice profit, I was good, it was my jo0b to create a "HAwaiian" laid back family style atmosphere, and I did it. I got paid good becuae of it. If you're a lazy waiter/ess, don't fill my drinks constantly, you don't deserve money.

I AM JUDGING YOUR EVERY MOVE!!! IF you don't like it, get another job, nobody is holding a gun to your head! Grow up, shallow your pride at working at a scum job, and suck it up. Grow some, seriously! IF you're good, you'd have moved up, like I DID!!!

Come on...grow up!!!

I don't care if someone gives a couple of bucks...who cares...it's the people who complain about their lack of skills/will power having to work a lower end job complaining about other people not throwing money at them for not having the skills/ability to get a better job.
