Absolutely!I'm generous in tipping if/when the service I get is great/above and beyond my expectations. Most usually in restaurants and getting my haircut. Beyond those two probably nothing, but will depend on the situation.
If the service warrants it, I tip 20 - 25% for table service, and typically it is a cash tip even if I'm putting the meal on a card.
OBTW, this is never a "chain" restaurant, as we only go to locally owned businesses.
If I walk up to a bar in a brewery, and order a pint of IPA, and the server turned around and filled a pint glass with beer from a tap, that's not a 20%er, not even close. I do tip, but 10% tops.
Recently I've noticed that the POS devices, even at food trucks, have changed the tip options to 20%, 25%, and 30%. No for walk-up food truck service, I chose "custom" and give them 10 - 15% tops.
OBTW, last week the same food truck tip options were 18%, 20%, and 25%.
Footnote: I live in what is often called "Beer City", and for a reason. One brewery here, New Belgium, has signs "no tipping", and for those that do tip, all tip money is donated to a charity. Because they fucking pay their people a living wage to begin with.
