i wish i had your connections. I can only upload at 40 KB/s. it's not that i'm skimping, it's just that my DSL sucks!

no problems with proportions here. I always down more than I up (no cap, either). I use Azureus, BTW.

Might depend on what you're trying to get. TV eps that are real popular (ie. 24) you always end up on top.

Or listen to or watch, I get saved a bit because someone inevitable shuts off my machine without asking. I lock it now but they just power the damn thing off. In-laws must die.
 
During the day when my ISP is bitchy, I have a few going at dialup/isdn speeds. Up at 5 kB/s, download at ~300 kB/s 🙂

I let it max out the upload overnight though (90 kB/s)

I use ABC and its great. But tranfers like that couldn't be your client anyways.

Heh youre lucky to have that, my new verizon plan is 1500down 128k up, unless i wanna shell out for business DSL which is over $80 a month.

(the local cable here is adelphia powerlink, and its terrible)
 
I realized that when you download stuff that is popular among kids, your download is a lot slower than on stuff that isn't so popular among kiddies. Why? Because they don't get the concept of sharing.
 
Of course, if the seeds are all located on slow links, then you might as well devote all your bandwidth to upload, since it's going to be idle capacity anyway.

Can you limit your upload speeds with Azureus?
