TIme to replace Logitech G500

DesiPower

Lifer
Absolutely love the mouse, have been solemates for years, the on the fly dpi adjustment, adjustable weights, juts LOVE IT! Recently its started acting up, when I left click, it double clicks... Its out of warranty, still submitted a case, lets see what happens. Meanwhile looking for a replacement.

Would like it to be laser, 5000+ dpi, few customizable (two atleast) buttons is a plus but not a deal breaker, I can deal with standard 3 button mice. My biggest issue with MOST good gaming mouse is their look, they look tacky, like G502, are you kidding me??? I cant have them on my desk, no way... budget is $50. Currently looking at Anker CG100, any other suggestions?

What about

http://www.amazon.com/MIONIX-Multi-Color-Ergonomic-Laser-Gaming/dp/B00ANIRU7U

?
I have had it for quite some time now and I have been extremely happy with it. I honestly have no complaints still!

Woah, didnt realize this was like a week old

nice! how about the 7000 model? its optical too! (which is better for gaming?)

I havent used the 7000 but from the site (I honestly havent really looked/compared in depth at all) it would appear the DPI is the only difference?

*EDIT*

Apparently the 7000 doesnt have the light indicator on the side. The higher end one has that so you know if you are on either 1-3 setting I guess? for on the fly adjustments.

yeah, that what I though too... I will probably go for the Laser one, but will wait and see if I can get 500s for that above mentioned deal before year end

Still using my G5. Looked into replacing it a few months ago. Found out that my only option was the G303 because I "need" a braided cable and want something that isn't painted -- my G5's paint has held up surprisingly well, wear is barely noticeable. The LED lighting seems annoying though.

Thats indeed a big miss... probably the deal will revive for Christmas.. .

It was a ridiculous deal. I'm kicking myself for only ordering one (order limit was 3).

Camelcamelcamel makes it look like the price dropping like that again is unlikely, but it's hard to tell what Amazon is going to do. They are very surprising at times.

All the led and buttons is a no go for me. I settled on a MS IE explorer 3.0 and razer abyssus. MS explorer 3.0 has a similar feel to the G5 but without the high DPI so a lot slower. The razer abyssus is aesthetically pleasing but smaller. Perfect for a fingertip grip.

Honestly I typically only use them as wired mice. Battery time varies depending on how you have the mouse set. I just unplugged mine, I'll see how long it lasts.

I got meself a 502 for $40 from bestbuy, it was on sale few weeks back, got G710 too for $70 iirc. I am not at all happy with 502, its much smaller than 500, doesn't fill my palm like 500 used it. Also the button to slow down the mouse, sits right where i like to rest my thumb, forcing me to change the basic way I hold my mouse... It's just not the right mouse for me.

Missed the 500s deal this morning, it was being sold for $29.... but seriously thinking about replacing 502, I dont think I can get used to it...

interesting, I find the 500 too big (as well as most mice from logi). did pick up a 502 and razer hex when BB had the sale a couple weeks ago. with holiday finally starting to quiet down may be time to finally break them out.

the G502 is actually a solid mouse despite how it looks.

On top if you use a G13 or a G series keyboard the buttons on a G502 intigrate with profiles you setup on logitech game panel which is a major win for me.

You eventually get used to the tacky look on a G502, but i'll honestly say i am very hard pressed to find a mouse equal to it, especially if your using logitech game software app.

Yeah, I decided to keep the 502, discovered the integration with the keyboard and stuff... It's pretty neat, I am sure I will get used to it eventually

The G500s is physically identical to the G500. I love the G500 too, have owned 3. 😀 So if you want something completely like the G500 in design, but with a higher dpi laser, 500s is the ticket. 🙂

Iirc, 500/500s are laser and 502 is optical, technologically speaking, huge difference, but I don't feel anything besides the, in my personal opinion, stupid shape
