I tried guys, I really tried, but could never get used to the 502. Finally bought a 500S and I am so much happier now... I liked features of 502, will miss them, but the shape was just not for me...

Gotcha. I've had my 502 for a week...it's really awesome, just a few things that bug me...I might trade it in for the G500s, also....so you like the 500s?

Perfect! I noticed when I looked at pics of the G500s it was identical to the G500. I've owned 2 or 3 G500 and love the feel. Wanted to give the 502 a chance, still undecided but leaning toward the 500s.

I wonder if I got a G500s if I could just lower the DPI down to 5100dpi. That was my setting for all of them. And I wonder if the laser feels the same as G500?

Absolutely, you can assign the DPI to be anywhere between 200 and 8200 dpi. there are 5 levels and you can assign a dpi to each level. I like 2500 for daily use and that what I have set on level 2. These levels can be chose on the fly from the button the mouse

I'm in the same boat as you and my G500 is dying. I really... REALLY hate the looks of the new 502 and it doesn't even feel good to me. That being said, my main gripe with the 500 was how far forward the thumb buttons were - it made pressing the M5 button a pain as I had to reposition my hand every time I wanted to press it. I never had this problem with my older Logitech mice.

Can you tell me if the thumb buttons are in the same place as on the G500? I really need a new mouse and it looks like the 500S is the one I want and I refuse to buy an MMO mouse or any of those circular 6 thumb button Razers.

I mainly use my mouse for gaming, so I'm hoping you can shed some light on how it compares to the G500.

yeah, I felt that 500 and 500s are identical... 502's button might be a little closer, depending om how you hold it, the distance of the button from the lower edge is same but 502 is not that high and shape is different so reaching the buttons might be easier. I will try to post a side-by-side pic of all 3 later tonight if I get time...

My G500 "died" a few years ago, but the fix is actually very simple. Inside the left click switch is a small, bent piece of metal that will, over time, slowly flatten out. To bring the mouse back to like-new clicking, you can take it apart, re-bend the metal bit, then reassemble the mouse. If you know what you're doing, it would probably take 20-30 minutes, though you can probably expect to spend a fair bit longer if you don't know how to get the mouse apart.

I'm sure there are guides for this somewhere.

The issue with my mouse is all the buttons are wearing out and occasionally the laser pointer will bug out and my pointer will only go in diagonal directions.
