What does SNR have to do with how loud or quiet the player is? High SNR only ensures a clean signal, it isn't even that great of a quality indication since it says nothing of distortion.

Anyhow, the iAudio 5 is interesting but I still think the Nano is a better grab. AAC and OGG are pretty equivalent and near transparent at the commonly used bitrates (128+ kbps) so I don't really see the point of having OGG support unless if you already have a large Vorbis collection. It's hard to argue with the Nano's smaller size AND lower cost. In addition you'll have access to iTunes for online music, to me the Nano is head and shoulders above everyone else in this category.

As for the scratching: who cares, it's an MP3 player. I guess if you're looking to make a fashion statement it might matter; but to me, babying an MP3 player is the last of my worries. MP3 players are utilitarian.

Higher volume without any detectable hiss. I know its not the best measurement, but it does tend to mean something. Again, just my opinion, others can disagree.

i just traded in my 40gb 4g for a 30gb video white. looks liek the nano but larger, doing good on the scratches so far.
Don't think the nano will be dropping in price anytime soon (you can get it for $189 for 2gb and $239 for 4gb at Costco along with the best return policy anywhere or the 30gb video for $289)

My Sandisk POS broke about a week ago. I think I am going to buy a 2gb Nano before the day is over. I'd love to know a decent case for one. I have not seen one suggestion on here quite yet. I will probably just end up getting a random one and hope it isn't crap.
