I have both clone cd, and daemon tools on my system, and the 1.5 Patch for Raven Shield works fine on my system, so i dont know what you are all talking about.

you sure its not 1.51? "Looks like UbiSoft caved in and released a v1.51 patch to correct their mistake. Hopefully the backlash from the community towards UbiSoft will make other game makers think twice before releasing "patches" which do nothing more than hurt their paying customers, and give the true pirates a good chuckle."

a LOT. And it's not illegal. So why the hell should they be able to tell me I can't have some software installed? Next thing they're going to have a contract with Microsoft and if you have Mozilla installed you can't play their game!

It's rediculous. If I purchased their software I should be able to run it however I choose to do so.

First off let me say my planned Xmas purchase of Rainbow Six is on hold as long as this proactice remains in place.

You arguement is really invalid though because Mozillia does not facilitate the illegal use of any games.

Sure it does. You can download plenty of warez games on Mozilla.

Yes you could download Warez using any browser. How ever their main funtion is not to DISABLE copy protection Schemes that are employed to PREVENT piracy. Now it doesn't matter IF you legally purchased the game you still are only allowed to use the software in a manner that the distributer desides. They can try to prevent you from copying games or using Virtual Drives and saying that they are doing something illegal is just not right. They can not prosicute you for making a legit back-up BUT they also do not have to make it easy. They also CAN and sometimes do make it difficult to make a working back-up.

I appluad UBISoft for the change of policy here in removing this incompatibilty, However I do understand why they did it. I HATE copyprotection and would gladly ATIVATE EVERY PIECE OF SOFTWARE I OWN to eliminate the need to put the CD IN. Hell Madden has incompatibities with having 2 CDROM DRIVES. and should you change drive letters you need to reinstall. I am still debating wether or not I will purchase the next madden(I have bought all of them since 97).

What people seem to forget that these measures are a response to piracy not the root cause. How many companies that made GREAT games have gone under. What is the level of piracy that effected this?

Of course NOT EVERYONE is, but I love seeing these closet warez monkeys get their panties in a wad over having to "acutally buy a game"

Damn, you beat me to it! Oh well, I'll be the first to say that Alcohol 120% has released v1.4.8 build 1222 that gets around the latest Securom BS anyway, so no more worries for me...until the next patch. Also, to the fuckt4rd above, I buy all my games and play them from images. Go somewhere else and spout off your uninformed opinions. Not everyone who uses a virtual drive is a criminal....dumbass.
