You're only what, 17? Time hasn't begun to fly yet. I'm 23 and it already feels like time's going at mach 1 and yet, I suspect it hasn't even reached half speed.

man i'm going to be ending my junior year of high school in about a week. time is flying by so fast. i feel so sad that 1000 people won't be at school for the last week (seniors have no 2nd semester finals). It's just feels weird because i know i probably will never see those people ever again. These are times that really make me remember to do as much as i can in time i have left in high school. One more year of high school and i'm gone...

Hehhhhhh....pfffffffft! High school is completely meaningless. What you perceive as "your world" is so incredibly tiny and w/o bearing. You just can't see that yet.
Out of all the people you graduate with, you will NEVER speak to, hear from or even see at the grocery store, 95% of them. 2% will die within a year. Another 2% will go to jail. 1% you will "keep in touch with" for oh...four months.
By the time you actually grow up, you'll see just how stupid life was back then. And you will lament becoming an adult b/c that means "Work. Work. More work. Pain. Bills. Agony. Work. Oh...did I say "work?"
Enjoy life now, young one. It is all downhill from here. The good part is that someday you'll have your own place and can do as you please.
BTW, did you get your Dad a real present for Father's Day or did you go with the $14.99 tie?
ps
Time does indeed fly by when you are not paying your own way in this world. Car insurance, medical insurance and FOOD costs money. Too bad for you that you don't know that yet.

don't worry. college is fun.
I dunno... getting parents out of my life and some serious money in my pocket definitley was the best thing that ever happened to me. College might suck in itself, but moving on with life is awesome.

sounds like high school to me, just replace every other work with "school" (and i'd rather be at work than school) and you have my life.Originally posted by: MichaelD

i didn't get my dad anything for fathers day except a card. you know why? cause he never gives me anything. nope, nothing for my birthday, nothing for christmas, and i'm not getting anything for graduation. he's one of those who believes you should work for everything yourself, at $6/hr. i just love it when the other kids at school get 15k cars from their parents as gifts while i worked hundreds and hundreds of hours for my pos.BTW, did you get your Dad a real present for Father's Day or did you go with the $14.99 tie?
