Huh. I did not know until today that "Spiegel" was German for "Idiot". If Americans today are are more afraid of debt than of terrorism, a non-Spiegel would conclude that the War on Terror is being handily won. Of course, a non-Spiegel would hardly quote a $1.3 trillion cost of wars and conclude that it caused a $14 trillion debt.
But then I long ago moved Germany to my fourth tier of preferred nations when shopping. I say let the party continue a bit longer. Unlike most government parties, this one isn't costing us much.
