Damn, you guys must have real butchers performing the procedure. Never been sore or had excessive gas and have the best sleep ever. Feel great afterward. Yes, the prep is horrible, Ill agree.

Tip: get your stomach and throat checked at the same time, preferably first and not with the same probe.

I have said this before about the prep. I am married with 2 kids. I got to spend 6 hours by myself with a book, my computer, my phone and a TV. It was worth it.

As far as the procedure the worst part was the prep at the surgery center. Then they put me to sleep and I woke up and never knew what happened.

My wife did the poop in the box thing. I get ill just thinking about it. There is absolutely no way I could do that.

I plan to never have a colonoscopy unless a ColoGuard test shows a problem. And even then I'd have to think about it.

Fortunately I'm not that old yet.

You must have had very considerate doctors who used plenty of lube and wiped up after they were done. Or maybe you are in the "Doesn't matter, had sex" category.

Yeah, at 50, do it. It's a non once you get over the up your ass thing. @Darwin333 talked me through his worst parts. Polyps, divertoculosis, whatever...better safe than sorry.

Lady friend just tried one. Failed. She is a large woman but has some type of ovarian cancer that has prevented the scope. Does not look good. @Stopsignhank

Were they sticking the tube up the wrong hole, otherwise how did that prevent the scope? I doubt that I want the answer to this but I am compelled to ask, like a moth to a flame.

Unconfirmed, she has a very large ovarian cancer that's blocking the intestines. Bad shit.

My anatomy lessons won't let me comprehend why that is so but she is dealing with enough suck and as I originally said, I probably don't really want to know the answer. Hope she has a swift recovery.

Well, no, they don't go together but I think she has a large mass.

Thanks but I'm not sure what a recovery might be. We'll see.

Not to shatter your perception that only old people get these, I had my first one when I was 25. I was healthy until I wasn't, and they had to rule some things out with one.

It's not that. It's the prep. Traditional, x-ray, or pill camera, they all need empty guts. I'm afraid that if I clean out my guts I'll never get them working right again. I've had problems with that before.
