Tim Tebow to start for denver.

I'm not surprised that he's starting but I'm a big surprised that they'd announce it so early. I believe Denver has a bye week coming up, why not let Tibow practice with first string but leave your up coming opponent in the dark so they can't game plan as well?

Game plan what? The Broncos don't know what he's going to do after the snap, how is the opposing DC going to plan against that?

I am going to laugh when he can't do much more than run the damn ball all the time. He won't last long after he gets the shit knocked out of him time and again.

I want to like him, but you could tell last night that he can't settle in the pocket, scan the field, and throw like a pro. He panics and then runs way too often.

It'll be tougher for him from now. SD was completely unprepared when he came into the game and let it get too close for comfort; I'm thinking that won't happen again.

They haven't announced anything

Fox even said today they'd make that decision tomorrow. And from what i was reading... he aint getting the job

When reporters asked if Fox would have to change his offensive plays to cater to Tebow, Fox responded, "Tim's a very good, young quarterback ... He's the most mobile of our quarterbacks, but that doesn't really define him as a quarterback or define his skill sets.”

Tebow struggled on Sunday with snaps under center.

"That's something he hasn't done a lot, either in college or in the NFL," Fox said. "He hasn't gotten a lot of reps up to now.”

"I think lots made out of the quarterback position. No doubt that it sparked our team," Fox said. "But as you looked around there was a lot of different guys making plays."

That's not exactly a ringing endorsement

The whole Denver team is so bad, QB is the least of their worries, or should be. Outside of Brandon Lloyd the Broncos don't have a single offensive player that would make the roster on most other teams. NOBODY can succeed in Denver given it's current state of affairs. Orton is probably the second-best player on Denver's O right now, he's shown that he can be good with some tools around him.

I wouldn't be surprised if Fox plays Tebow to show that he's a McDaniels failure. Tebow is not the long-term solution for Fox; even if he succeeds short-term I bet Elway tries to move him for a 6th or 7th rounder.

This is the perfect time to put Tebow in, but not because I think he'll be any good (I don't). Orton is a decent player. Won't carry a team, but won't hold a good team back either. The problem is that this team is bad, and Orton isn't going to turn it around and save it.

So you're left with two options: 1) Keep going like it is, finish 4-12 with fans screaming "WHY HAVEN'T YOU PUT TEBOW IN????" while not knowing if Tebow is even worth a roster spot, or 2) Go with Tebow, finish somewhere between 2-14 and 6-10 and find out what you have in Tebow and experiment with wildly different offensive styles.

The absolute worst outcome for this would be that he fails miserably and the Broncos play themselves into the Luck sweepstakes (not at all bad), while giving themselves an out to dump Tebow at the end of the season (what the front office wants to do anyway). There's really no downside to playing Tebow now.

Yeah their season is done regardless of what they do now. However, Fox's job is likely on the line if they go 2-14 with Tebow starting the rest of the season. They'll ditch them both.

People have been saying the same thing about McNabb vs. Ponder in Minnesota. Lots of fans screaming for McNabb's head, and I don't blame them. He has been terrible in every game this year, including their 34-10 win yesterday. But Frazier is insisting that McNabb still has the starting job. I guess we'll see if things change if they lose to Chicago next week.

Remember, NFL coaches are risk-averse. Exceptionally so. They would rather make a decision that minimizes their immediate chances of losing rather than maximizing their overall chances of winning. So they're not going to want to gamble their jobs on young, unproven QBs that are more likely to flop than succeed.

Of course he can't do those things coming in halfway through a game where they're way behind against a very good team, after the long lockout, without getting enough snaps even after it ended, trying to lead a team that's used to a completely different quarterback. And yet he ALMOST pulled out a comeback win.

Look at his three starts last year. His defense gave up 450 yards and over 31 points per game. His "runners" only bought him 179 yards on 64 carries...that's 2.8 per. He went up against two of the best pass defenses in the league. He'd never made an NFL start before. He jumped into an offense not tailored to his style or abilities. And yet he won one, almost won another, and kept one close until the last half of the fourth quarter, averaging 25 points a game. Again, this is a rookie QB on a horrible team.

Why people look at Tebow and see failure is beyond me. Winners don't care if it's pretty. Judge the kid after he's actually had a chance.

Fox won't get canned after one season. McDaniels held on for two or three and he was a frothing idiot when it comes to head coaching. Fox is a decent guy who needs a year or two to retool the pile of crap he inherited.

B/c he can't throw the ball, let alone accurately. Doug Flutie, Geno Torretta, etc were winners too in college. In the NFL, QBs need to throw the ball. Crap, at least the later two could take snaps under center.

Denver needs to trade Tebow away while he still has some perceived value. If they play him and everybody inevitably finds out he's worthless then he'll definitely be a bust. Get something out of him a little more proven. I don't care what position because they're all pretty terrible... just SOMETHING.

For the love of fuck, we do NOT need 3 mediocre starters just to dick around with them every week. I swear to christ this organization is run like a bunch of dice rolling nerds:

*whistle* Okay! Half time!
As your group approaches the deepest corners of the locker room a monumental decision faces you... which QB shall you set forth against the hordes of the opposing defense?
*rolls a 2*
Tebow it is!
*high five*

"I'm gonna get a Mountain Dew, does anyone want one?"

It's getting out of fucking control. My first thought was to gut every pathetic soul that McDaniels had the misfortune of fucking with, but then I realized we'd have absolutely no QB if we did that. We'd also be down to McFaggen at RB. I'm so sick of this asshatery that I can't even stomach the news anymore.

The worst part is that hurricane McDaniels did actually remove that worthless dick wart Cutler, and I really liked seeing him go. But in a twist of awful fate my job lands me RIGHT NEXT FUCKING DOOR to that god damned city we shipped his chinless ass too. I'M SURROUNDED BY BEARS FANS AND HAVE TO DEAL WITH HIS SAD-SACK ANTICS AGAIN!
😡😡😡😡😡

It's not just my opinion, a number of professionals in the sport indicated during the draft and after that he wasn't suited to play in the NFL. I have to believe now, more than ever, that he won't make it. The NFL is a QBs paradise right now. There are QBs turning in 300-400 yard games regularly now and he can't seemingly pass the ball.

Bottom line, he staked his claim to fame by running the ball in college and that won't work in the NFL, he will get destroyed after a few seasons and fade into obscurity.
