Tiger Woods divorce price: $750 million

I hate to tell you guys, but this story isn't even remotely true.

Considering Tiger's net worth in 2009 was ~$609 million, I'm not sure how a $750 billion divorce settlement is remotely believable.

But, you saw it on the intarwebs! It must be true!

$750 million, but yeah.

Maybe not just one, but many. Maybe Tiger is a mass murder, similar to Trinity in Dexter, that hunts and kills females throughout many US cities as a side hobby to his golf games.

HA! I love this!! Man it'd be awesome if true (though not awesome for his victims I guess). He'd make a killing off the story rights too (though not $750M I guess).

I was thinking about this too. It just seems an impossible number. But the point here really is, if its $750 million, billion or thousand people here still wont get the point that it is apparently an amount that HE agreed to out of court. Hell he may have even OFFERED it. She's not a "gold digging whore" or any type of "whore"

Please don't talk about things that you apparently have no clue about.
What I described is a man giving his (soon to be) ex-wife AND HIS CHILDREN, money that HE (or his team) thinks they should have.

He can provide for his children just fine without paying off his ex wife

I highly doubt the 750 figure is true, but honestly, I don't expect the actual amount to be any less ridiculous or undeserved.

There is only one reason the figure is what it is, because it will likely cost him LESS than a court case + less stress this way.

He's not paying $750M to shut her up, he's paying a small % more to shut her up. The bulk of that would have been awarded to her anyways (whatever the actual figure is).

I knew that $750m was bullshit. If she really did ask for $750m she'd realize how stupid she is and fear for her life.

That's what I was thinking too. No way she was going to take $750M unless they were factoring in future earnings. I was told Forbes had an article (haven't visited the site recently so I didn't verify myself) where someone had tracked his lifetime earnings including endorsement checks, all the deals he's signed, etc. to about $600M. The only thing they wouldn't have visibility to was any investments Tiger has made, but, the stock market has basically done nothing while he has been playing golf so it's probably not likely he had an investment he made big on.

Here's my theory... 🙄

1. Tiger is "gay", his marriage is just a cover up to his sexual preference.
2. Ex-wife know who they are and has a list, mostly prominent people.
3. His womanizing/affairs are not real, it's just to distract the unknowing public.
4. He is paying so his endorsements and "public image" won't suffer.

5. tiger has a small penis from the asian genes and wants to keep that on the DL.

Blackmail:
Elin - Pay me $750 million or else!

Not Blackmail:
Tiger - I'll give you $750 million if you keep your yap shut forever, 'k... please?

Again, this is not court ordered, it's irrelevent if she deserves this money or not. It's his and his people's decision, it's apparently worth it to him for whatever reason, the end.

Yeah, I couldn't see where people were calling blackmail, but that actually seemed like the least stupid point some people were making.

sounds like she got the stick when put this way.

But guys, she's just a hooker too, she didn't even deserve that much. 🙄

I guess maybe that's what was causing people to call her a hooker, the amount, but even then I still just cannot understand what was with the people's reaction (which if they wanted to complain about the amount she was getting how is it her fault if he was apparently fine with it; I would think calling him a dumbass would have made much more sense). I honestly didn't think they were actually taking that figure seriously.

Thats ridiculous, makes her the most overpriced hooker ever.

Further proof that marriage is merely a business contract that tends to benefit the woman.
Amazing.
If you were to setup a business and sign legal documents with your partner you'd each get a fair share when you broke up. But in a marriage where one person earns a billion dollars and the other person earns.........
well, fuckall, the less valuable partner somehow ends up with most all the money.

I love America.

750 million...100 million,,,,what does it matter? In the end...it still disgusting. It's disgusting because that money is not mine.

Given that, despite his infidelity, Tiger's never struck me as a complete and total jacka$$, my guess as to the reasons for the agreement would be:

1) Tiger truly wants to attempt to atone for his actions, and this is one way he sees to do so
2) Tiger's legal and PR teams want him to appear to the public to be wanting to atone for his actions
3) As Tiger's an athlete, his ex will likely be spending a significant amount of time raising their children; thus, he wants to appropriately provide for their care and support
4) Tiger plays a sport in which competitors typically compete, at some level, into their 50's and 60's; thus, he has decades of earning potential remaining, so he has the possibility to recoup most, if not all, of this sum
5) Tiger wants to put this entire debacle behind him, and does not want it rehashed two or three years from now with the release of a tell-all memoir from his ex-wife
