Huh? Voting for Prop. 8 means you wanted to ban gay marriage. I'm not sure you know which side you're on, but I'll be glad if you're opposed to bigotry, including bigotry against gays.

And if you have to ask, no, I'm not gay. I just have friends who are, and I see no reason to continue the blind hatred directed at them.

This is the part I find most amusing about this debate. While anti-gay rights folks try to turn this into a "gay" issue, the fact is that the vast majority of people who support gay marriage are straight people who have no desire to marry someone of the same sex. It's not about the gay community, a radical agenda or people who march in gay pride parades...it's about millions of perfectly average people who have figured out that gay people should be able to marry someone they love instead of someone of the pre-approved gender. And as one of those average people, I have to ask my fellow straight people...when the hell are you going to wake up and realize what a lot of us already have?
