Tid Bit of the day

So I'm a fan of trivia. Contrary to popular belief from what seems to me a large amount of users on this forum, I do know a thing or two about useless stuff. On Facebook for example, I usually always beat my opponents in the game's triviador and Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader. I love the board game Trivia Pursuit and my family NEVER beats me. LOL So with that this thread is the Tid Bit of the day thread. Post a Tid Bit (not bull shit).

Tid Bit #1

Got this from the back of a Snapple tea bottle cap. They always have fun facts on the bottom of the caps.

I'll paraphrase: "Male pups inherently allow female pups to win while playing so that they can get to know them better."

I LMAO when I read that, but I guess it's true. You can go to snapple.com and find other tid bits.

Interesting to know, we have always noticed this behavior in our two dogs. Our mini schnauzer weighs probably 2x-3x more than our female boston terrior and when they play tug of war with their favorite toy he always lets her pull him around.

Tid bit #2

One day on Venus is longer than a year on Venus.
Head asplodes.

I was playing Trivia Crack (Android app) quite a bit until recently. I played my friends and won about 90% of the time, at least. I sensed people were not wanting to play so I stopped sending invites and no one challenged me until like last week when my buddy did, the one guy who is actually a challenge to play against. I guess I'm full of useless info like you, OP.

Wow, smarter than people on Facebook? I have things growing in my shower that are smarter than people on Facebook.

Tid bit #3

Baby bunnies are called kittens.

Tid bit #4

Uranus is the third largest planet in out solar system and is tilted. Since the planet is tilted seasons last around 20 years. Scientists believe that Uranus is tilted due to something colliding with the planet.

Myth: Florida's Everglades is a giant swamp.

Truth: The Everglades is actually a slow moving river, 60 miles wide and 100 miles long. It flows from Lake Okeechobee and lets out in Florida Bay.

Until the 1930's, basketball was routinely played inside a court encompassing cage.

How many minutes of actual baseball action are there in a major league game ? On average, only 18.

The only 15 letter word that can be spelled without repeating a letter is "uncopyrightable"!

In the 1980s, Pablo Escobar's Medellin Cartel was spending $2,500 a month on rubber bands just to hold all their cash.

The same person who sang "You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" was also the voice of Tony the Tiger (Thurl Ravenscroft).

When the computer mouse was invented, it was called the "X-Y Position Indicator for a Display System

Dr. Ruth was trained as a sniper by the Israeli military.

My phone's pedometer says I average 10,865 steps a day. I guess I only though I was a lazy fuck. Pick it up America!
Thank you for doing your part to offset my "contribution."

(I have no idea how much I walk in a day. Probably not very much anymore.)

5,000 steps even seems generous. I wonder what it is for someone who lives in a suburban setting and drives to work everyday and works on a computer all day?

~3 miles. I'm a little suspicious of that myself, but I gues you could do it with enough trips to the fridge :^D
