Actually, of everything I learned in school, English is what I've retained well. :) Of all the things one learns in school, the ability to communicate effectively is one of the most important. Try to find a decent job that doesn't require the ability to communicate.

I happen to have co-written and edited this article for publication on AnandTech, although if you look through it carefully you will still find some errors. I should have proofread it one more time. ;)

mechBgon I wish I had your writing skills!! You should of seen me 6 years ago before I picked up my first PC. My writing at that time would of blinded you LOL!! I'm a home Improvement contractor and run a little side business upgrading and building PCs. Mostly it just pays for my hobby. Please forgive my lousy writing skills I will try to improve !!!

<< what can I say!! I slept thru english in high school give me a break guy's >>

Alright, we'll give you a break about your poor grammar and spelling if you give us a break on how superior our Athlon PCs are to yours.

Also, why do you have two @home email addresses? The one on the P4 3DMark score page doesn't match the one you list here.

If running Q3A for 24 hours straight with SETI in the backround WITH 4x AGP enabled is not stable. I do not know what is.

the p4 is an over hyped bunch of BS that relies on a huge clockspeed advantage, now that thunderbirds r overclocking to like 1.4 / 1.5 with air cooling the P4 is basically trash :) very expensive trash
'netburst' ?!? i mean come on... intel will have to make some better stories than that.

anyone who cannot make asyable thunderbird/duron system shouldnt be building computers OR they have a faulty part / system config error...

my Duron 600@ 1030mhz is already beating a 1.5ghz P4 in integer ops! and it only cost $140 Australian $$ !!! not to mention its 100% stable no matter what I do (over a month uptime IN WIN98 !!!)

Now I am not interested in this P4 vs tbird pissing match but I saw the benchs that NOS was relating too so I decided to download 3dmark again and run benchmark. WTF my old athlon 1 gig had scores of 7493 and this 1.4 only gets scores in high 7800s with same videocard??:|:(:Q:(:|

This is where I meant to post in the first place and accidentally posted in 400+thread

cpars Its pretty much easy to figure he had to cripple his system to get it to run at this speed stable it took 2 to 3 hours to post a successful run of 3Dmark . In doing so he just proved a point. The AMD zealots will do anything to prove me wrong even when they themselve are dead wrong !!

I meant to reply here and not to the 400+ post ;) ;)

I will just happily enjoy my rock stable and fast as anyone will need for quite sometime Pentium 4 !!

<< but I don't want to deal with hastles with W2k >>

I would just like to add that this is a myth. If the correct pathces as well as SP1 is instaled win2k runs great on all Athlon chipsets ranging from the old AMD751 to the KT133A :)

No I am talking about both systems are mine , not referring to anyone else. I am a speed:$ zealot myself I do not care if dewalt, makita,AMD,INTEL or bosch make the thing.

cpars point taken no problem. I have to admit that I am a slight Intel Zealot but after seeing this clock speeds reached I am tempted to try a Thunderbird. My decision would sealed in stone if someone would come forward with a uncrippled Thunderbird clocked to this speed (1450mhz) and using a standard aftermarket cooler and his case closed without any ridiculous fan setups.

So there is my challenge to the AMD zealotry crowd. Give me proof And I will take the dive once more !!!!!

(defined proof is running major 3d apps without crippling there system. bring on the results !!)

I've seen another post by you stating that the Pentium IV destroys the AMD Thunderbird. Why've you changed your mind all of a sudden, hmm? Is it because the absolue POWER and BEAUTY of the Thunderbird processor has overtaken you? Probably! Just make up your mind anyways d00d.

well if you would bother to read the whole thread before you reply and I mean both threads you would see why !!!!!! I see you have a 15" monitor with your 1200 mhz Thunderbird now I see why you don't read the whole thread ;) ;)

There are just some people that don't have their priorities straight. I saw one post with someone bragging about having a 1.2GHz Athlon at 1.3GHz, but they had a crusty old 16MB Voodoo Banshee and a very slow 2GB HD in that same system. Think people! Think!

This is a Quote from a member of this forum that I just was chatting with. I think it sums things up pretty well ;) ;) But hey he's a Intel Zealot too !!!!!!

"LOL, well he wont get any arguement from me on negative feedback on AMD, hot running, sluggish, hard drive corrupting, unstable as hell VIA chipset running trash... IMHO.."

Dam get a life peaple. I just read on anandtech about the kt133a and it says we already know that the athlon beats the p4 in most of the benchmarks.Read it.As for the guy with the 16 meg video card and a 2 gig hd with a 1.2 gig athlon. So what.alot of peaple dont play games. My dad wants to upgrade his old p2 400 for a fast 1.2 Athlon but its just for work.He doesnt play games.I'll probably put him in an mx anyway couse there cheap.

That guy must not know how to put his system up right.Sluggish??Yea right.BTW you all act like you think your better becouse you have a p4.I tell you if i wanted one with a shiitload of ram and an ultra i would have one.I make enough money that i get what i want. The point is peaple will get what they want.If they want amd then good for them.Same if they want Intel. So why come in here and get everybody all worked up.Its stupid man. This forum used to help me on some things but anymore its just a bunch of peaple bragging and fighting on who they think is better. What a bunch of idiots.

Take it easy dude the guy was kidding around and I though it was funny so I added it to the mix. Why are AMD people so uptight ;) ;)
