If Microsoft learned to code better, there wouldn't be a need for anti-spyware programs to begin with.

Maybe because coders would rather write a piece of spyware that targets an OS that over 90% of the computer users worldwide use as opposed to a relatively smaller group of linux users?

A: Because the spyware coders are smart enough to code for the VAST MAJORITY. DUH. 50% of the reason why spyware and viruses are really only a problem to windows users. The other 50% is because people suck at the Internet.

Injury: Spyware free.

The IE bashing needs to stop. Honestly, people don't know when a topic has been BEATEN INTO THE GROUND.

It has been proven on countless occassions by countless users that IE can be perfectly fine when you aren't an idiot. The bottom line is, everyone's a fanboy.

About MS's tool, I will get it and try it out if someone can 100% verify for me that I can disable it on startup.

I admit that windows desktop is the most used in the world....but linux is gainly popularity very fast. The fact there isn't ONE spyware issue with linux must mean something.

I just consider Windows like a sponge. a product with a lot of holes

It's hard to say really. I think part of it has to do with Linux's user base, who are generally more experienced computer users. Another part is the fact that Windows has much more market share and are more of a "target".

Do a search and read the tons of multi-page arguments on the topic. It always starts off with someone saying that Firefox rules their life, then other people agreeing, and then of course lots of people saying "You're wrong, shut up, IE is fine."

Basically, if you're n00, yes stick with Firefox to protect yourself. If you're not, go with whichever one your prefer. IE is fine.

Just downloaded it and ran the full system scan and it comes up with ZERO.
Ran spybot right after it and it found 8 spyware traces.

The antispyware by MS still isnt what its hyped up to be.
