On the news this morning they were talking about this and some of the reasons were "increased chatter similar to that before 9/11" coming from the terrorists and reason to believe that a terrorist attack that would "dwarf 9/11" may be imminent. Wouldn't surprise me if something big does happen soon. But I'm not going to get paranoid about it. If I get blown up I get blown up, nothing I can do about it.

So WTF are we supposed to do about it? I don't get this rating system. I am already doing all I can here...if I see any suspicious behavior I'll report it. My alert level is already high dammit and there is nothing else I can do as a civilian.

Seriously, what specific actions should I take now the threat is "high" instead of "elevated"??? Sneak into my neighbors' homes and look for AK-47's and camel droppings?? What a joke.

trickle down would be much more credible if you decrease govt. spending at the same time, not by leveraging the economic health of the next generation.

Am I the only one who thinks all these "high alert" levels (colors, whatever), are getting to be a little like "crying wolf"? How many times have we been on hightened alert since 9/11 2001? After dozens of such warnings, it would appear to me the public ignores them very much like one ignores the car alarm going off near the mall....
