Threat level to get raised again....

I think this first time they raise it?

I thought last time warnings came it stayed at yellow. This would be differn't

Hmmm... Eiher means war will be declared soon or there's another election coming up. 😉

On the news this morning they were talking about this and some of the reasons were "increased chatter similar to that before 9/11" coming from the terrorists and reason to believe that a terrorist attack that would "dwarf 9/11" may be imminent. Wouldn't surprise me if something big does happen soon. But I'm not going to get paranoid about it. If I get blown up I get blown up, nothing I can do about it. 😛

So WTF are we supposed to do about it? I don't get this rating system. I am already doing all I can here...if I see any suspicious behavior I'll report it. My alert level is already high dammit and there is nothing else I can do as a civilian.

Seriously, what specific actions should I take now the threat is "high" instead of "elevated"??? Sneak into my neighbors' homes and look for AK-47's and camel droppings?? What a joke.

I think its just meant as a reminder that we wear clean underwear each day. 😉

to break it down, Level Orange translates to:

"Please don't focus on our deteriorating economy, record deficits to come, and the bills you can't pay because you've recently gotten laid off, because we want your support in for a war that few others think is necessary right now, and $200 billion for this war isn't all that much anyways, according to garp."

You dumbass, where do you think that 200 billion is going to go? China? It's going right back into the US economy in the form of new work for the defense industry, paychecks for soldiers called up, plus all of the other incidental expenditures. Jesus, do some research before you hit the reply button.

its called printing more money, increasing the deficit, borrowing money to pay for it. hello? otherwise, the government could just print us checks to help the economy.

well look at reagan years. it just doesnt work

Trickle down to who? This money will go directly into the economy in the form of job orders and paychecks, what is there to trickle down? The US isn't giving the money to Jeff Bezos.

trickle down would be much more credible if you decrease govt. spending at the same time, not by leveraging the economic health of the next generation.

Am I the only one who thinks all these "high alert" levels (colors, whatever), are getting to be a little like "crying wolf"? How many times have we been on hightened alert since 9/11 2001? After dozens of such warnings, it would appear to me the public ignores them very much like one ignores the car alarm going off near the mall....
