If you are absolutely 100% without a doubt certain that she is then buy the Sony.
Well, she will use it primarily to keep her contacts and dates organized. That requires data entry all the time. Doesn't a keypad make that a hell of a lot easier?
In concept yes it does but the keyboard appears to be very very tiny and it would probably be a painstackingly slow and tedious process entering in all of her contact info.
An easier/faster solution to enter all your initial contact info is to do it on the PC/Mac then when you HotSync it, everything is transferred to the PDA. Some PDA PIM software will interface with MS Outlook (if she already has her contacts there) and it's all a matter of clicks and it's done. If she has to enter a few contacts a day then maybe this gimmicky keyboard is worth it but I still think that the Pocket PC is where it's happenin'.
If you do decide to buy the Sony, make sure to get the best price. Dell Home Software and Peripherals is probably your best bet, they usually have 20% off coupons, plus 2% back from eBates.com and usually toss in free shipping with no tax in most states.
