Government has no business in a woman's womb. None. Any conservative who hates a big intrusive government, yet supports this kind of crap is a hypocrite.

All the government has to do it allow or not allow abortions to be legal or illegal. That is all. Once that is set its up, its up to doctors to provide or not provide that service. No other government intruision beyond allowing or not allowing them.

That is how it should be.

You cannot be serious. Lot of people get pregnant while having fun, they don't want any part of having a baby. The mother in many cases keeps smoking and drinking all through the pregnancy and the taxpayers end up taking care of the babies. If and when those babies are born, they are burden on their parents or mothers. They have a miserable childhood and a horrible life. I believe no babies should be brought into this world unless they parents or the mother is absolutely certain and happy and looking forward to having it.

Babies are a "gift of god" is a notion promoted by religious zealots who want to increase the number of people following their religion at all costs, without considering the quality of life these babies will have. The world is already over populated, I absolutely do not see any reason for bringing more unwanted babies into the world.

This. Babies should be planned and wanted. Not a drunken accident which will ruin someones life who didnt want a baby in the first place. I even think men should be allowed to request the women have an abortion if he is to be saddled with someone he didnt plan/want either. Of course if the woman refuses the man would have no legal ties to the baby and it would be all on the womans shoulder. I am fine with that scenario as well. Unplanned babies can ruin mens lives as well, especially if the girl says she was on birthcontrol only to find out later she lied and now you are stuck with "how is babby formed".

Honestly, I can't imagine 300 years from now in the Star Trek universe where we are traveling through space meeting new life forms that one of of the things we are going to be sharing with our new friends is that one of our proudest achievements is giving women the right to an abortion. I can't imagine that we will have made abortions so easy and so common that each toilet will have a little 'abortion' button on it that will instantly zap the fetus from the uterus of the woman sitting on it.

I could see in 300 years every woman/man having an implant that prevents unwanted pregnancy which is provided for free to everyone thus eliminating the common excuses used for most abortions.

As a society I think its a GOOD thing for us to make abortions more rare and not more frequent.

That sounds cool. I like how you think. Like we need more unwanted people in this world.

Well gee, we would want people's irresponsibility to ruin their lives now would we.

It not only ruins there lives. It potentially ruins fathers lives, the baby itself if not wanted, tax payers who get burdened funding these babies. I think the arguement really comes down to when do you consider it alive. My view is that until it is brought into the world it knows no life. So to take a life from something that does not know it exist is no biggie. Of course i would prefer early term abortions vs late term. I have thought about abortion a lot over my life and i have in my head the laws i would enact for pretty much any situation that could arise.

Partial birth abortion is a controversial issue, only recently made illegal. Asking whether or not the OP thinks it is wrong is no different than asking him if he's in favor of drug legalization or amnesty for illegal immigrants. Most people are in one of two camps on any controversial issue.
You didn't ask if he thought it was wrong. Please re-familiarize yourself with your own words.

For as stupid as you think I am, you sure do go out of your way to explain yourself to me.
I do it for the benefit of others. You are there to be made an example of.

Do me a favor, and let me be. It was my question to the OP, and I'd like him or her to answer it.
I don't owe you any favors.

Cerpin Taxt is a prime example of why a little intelligence is indeed a dangerous thing. CT can't help but insult others and flaunt his pseudo-intellect, especially in abortion threads. You'd do best to just ignore him. He's beyond reasoning, but if he were half as smart as he thinks he is, he'd have a better understanding of the depths of his ignorance.

You are cordially invited to disabuse me of any ignorance which you think I suffer. I won't be holding my breath, however.

Hey yea, we can kill off the autistic children too because they "don't know they exist", hell most babies don't "know they exist" either. All humans were a "clump of cells", and yet here we are, existing, so to say that an unborn doesn't exist is dishonest at the very least.

Where'd you get the stupid idea Autistic Children don't know they exist? My stepson is autistic and he damn well knows he exists..plus the score of every game a Boston team has played in since he was 5.

Probably the same place some get the stupid idea that a fetus isn't a life.

Hmmmm... what about newborn babies? They have a lower intelligence level than some adult mammals and can't be considered any more sentient than a dog and certainly not a gorilla.

Self awareness doesn't begin at birth, but long after birth. If whether you can kill a being is based on intelligence, babies are fair game just like monkeys and dogs.

If you base whether you can kill a being based on whether it's a human or not, you have to start at conception, or I guess when it starts dividing into its own distinct cells. And yet the miscarriage rate is very high during early pregnancy, and we don't really mourn those deaths, we don't baptize zygotes, and we don't bury them.

And what is the rationale for birth? It's just a convenient but arbitrary point for defining personhood.

I love em. Instead of shooting and killing each other in the streets they can get it over with at the liquor store and walk out happy.

According to The Venture Brothers we don't get souls until like 6 months or a year old, until then we're just little flesh monsters. I tend to agree.

seriousness though to many use abortion as birth control, that is wrong. I also find late term abortions to be extremely bad taste if they aren't risking the womans body. Why wait so long?

It isnt a life yet. It only had potential for life if left alone to finish its growth process from a clump of cells.. Again this all depends on when you decide life is. For me its when outside the womb.

Even though im pro-abortion i also agree it should NOT be used as birthcontrol. By that i mean if i were a Dr i would not want to see you in here every couple months getting an abortion done. But on occassional oopsy i see no big deal. Especially if you were trying to prevent it via birthcontrol and it just didnt do its job. If that is the case you obvioulsy didnt want a baby if you were on BC so why keep the baby on an oopsy?

even the biggest pro-choicers would consider the 3rd trimester as life.

it's clear you are ignorant or trolling.

Yes, I believe they should be able to. For instance, someone smuggling a vial of weapons grade uranium up their ass should be arrested.

How is this consistent with the gov't not being in wombs? What if a woman is smuggling something in her womb?

Truth hurt much? Using your logic we shouldn't allow poor people to even HAVE children. I also particularly enjoy your point of:

Moron going once - I am not talking about poor people, poor people can also provide a wonderful family environment for the kids to grow in, kids need family and love and care go grow in, not money

That would certainly eliminate about 98.44% of the world's births. o_O
Moron going twice - so you were born as a drunken mistake or a case of ultra cheap condom? or are you in the exceptional 1.56%? Me and all my friends have planned babies when we wanted, so please don't pull out those absurd stats out of your s$$

Also, since you mention trolling. The only person who mentioned 'god' in this thread is you. So stop bringing up religious zealots when most of us just believe thats scraping a fellow human being out of a uterus is generally not a good thing.
Moron confirmed - 98.44% people who support abortion and conservatives and less than 1.56% conservative are atheist, Almost all pro-life debates and speeches talk about god. You cannot have a pro-life debate without involving god. I did not bring religion and god into this thread, its a part of this thread.

That makes no sense. If it's not wrong to do something, then who cares how many times you do it? If it's not wrong to read the paper, who cares if I do it every morning?

If you're looking for morons, check the mirror. Then check Atheists for Life to see how the religion-abortion link isn't as strong as you think.

As ive said many times already. The earlier the abortion the better. Sure its alive, but it does not know life. I am pretty extreme on my abortion thinking though since id rather have less unwanted/unplanned babies in the world. Plus i have been in the situation once when i was young and almost got F'ed over by the psycho bitch.
