Those with 1 hour breaks at work

So, at work, we have 1 hour breaks. I was thinking about taking a 30-45minute nap during that time. I usually park in the shade and I could sleep in the car during my break. I want to know if anyone else does this or if this would seem weird.

Man we have people who put in ear plugs and kick back at the desk during lunch... so no, that isn't weird.

Afternoon nap time should be a right, in addition to lunch break.
No, it's not weird to take a nap. Naps are awesome. I'm full time student at the moment, but I do take naps if I have free period in afternoon. Gives me more energy, and I'm guaranteed to be tired for more than 45 minutes unless I take a 15 to 30 minute nap.

I hit the gym at lunchtime 3 days a week. One lunch a week is a beer break. The other day I just skip lunch and leave at an hour early.

Engineers across the hall are always laid back in their chairs snoring. But that's throughout the day.

At one of my summer jobs, we had 35 minutes or so for lunch. I'd scarf down my meal and 'rested my head' for the remainder. It was great. And yes, some people did find it odd, but I didn't care.

i dont get too tired during the day provided i got a decent night's sleep.

instead, i make sure to get a good lunch and then i have energy for the rest of the day.

I usually take my 1 hour break for lunch. 15 minutes to drive home, 30 minutes to make food/eat/check email/etc then 15 minutes to drive back. Or if I get fast food I usually just go back to work with it and eat it but I've cut down a lot on that.

When I was on the late shift (12:30-9:00pm) at help desk I used to always bring something for supper so I don't have to bother going out at 4 (latest I could get out as everyone left at 5 so I was the only one on the phones). I actually kind of miss that shift. I would go to bed late and get more stuff done.

There are several people at work that park under the pecan trees and take a quick nap. I don't think it's weird at all.

Yep. Love doing this.

I have, and there are people who regularly do it where I work.
It is not weird...
It is normal for your coworkers to yell at you, in an attempt to scare the shit out of you, as you as they return from lunch.

yup I do that at home on a nice recliner while being home. It really only takes 15 mins to eat.

heh. i do it ALL the time! sometimes i take a longer lunch too... 1 1/2 hour nap and eat my lunch while i work.

I was given the option to take half hour lunches, so I do that now - but when I had to take a 1 hour lunch it was drive, pickup cold something to drink (or hot depending on the weather... usually cold since I'm in socal) and maybe a snack, then time to park in some shade and sleep.

I can only stay awake for 60 consecutive seconds before having to sleep for exactly g ftn f 60 seconds.

Naps are great. Even if I sleep 7-8 hours, I still can feel tired mid-afternoon sometimes, and a nap is just wonderful then. I don't see anything wrong with it.
