Those rediculously bright blue headlights need to be banned!

Yup. I don't even have a rearview mirror, and the things shine in my eyes. They're even worse for oncoming traffic...

Probably some law issue about them installed aftermarket with improper equipment.

As Nik stated, there is more to them than just the bulb.

Even if they do buy the full assembly, the light can be functionally installed correctly, and improperly installed, which seriously impacts other drivers.

If they are installed correctly, they don't really do anything for other drivers, besides being far more visible.
I really like when they are on other cars, installed properly. You can see them clearly, but they don't appear any more bright than other lights. It's a very odd effect to describe.
And from the car the lights provide far more illumination of the ground and surrounding environment ahead. They just need to be aimed down correctly.

Factory built ones are properly done, and they aren't as blue.

Nope, pretty much medical fact. Humans have trouble with blue, and at high intensity it causes headaches, blurred vision, nausea, etc. People who are light sensitive will have stronger reactions faster is all.

Just google it. That's why it's so easy to get laws against them.

Its the aftermarket ones you'd find at autozone or some place like that, which are really blinding. Most people don't even know how to professionally install HIDs.

Factory built ones aren't so blinding and they also adjust depending on speed.

Yeah, and the aftermarket ones that frequently go into the 8k range, and people buy them thinking HIGH NUMBER YAY!
 
After market crap are junk and just basiclly blind the oncoming driver or the driver in the front. Factory that was built in are less blue compared to the cheap after market crap.
Most ricer things it's the diggity bomb and makes their car look cool but in reality they bought some knock off junk that just blinds the other drivers and is really just a ricer.

If you look at the fake ones compared to the real ones. The ones with fakes are mostly ricers and the factory are mostly newer model cars.

You probably needed to have sped up. Sounds like you were driving too slow.
 
BTW, for reference, this is how an aftermarket HID retrofit SHOULD be like:

Notice the lack of extreme blue color (which is worthless for visibility anyway) and the lack of glare. Now if I stand RIGHT in front of it, then yes, I get some glare, but not bad at all. Actually less than the stock halogens.

Of course, if I crouched down into the beam then yes I'd be blinded, but I hope no car is that low 😛

Now this is why I like the HIDs. Lights up the road very well, but in a controlled manner.

No, everybody drives too fast and tailgates if they can't. There's no law that says you need to do 10 over the speed limit at all times. I tend to go a tad over during the day, but at night with limited visibility, I drive the limit.

Sometimes I wish I was a cop so I could hand out speeding tickets. It's ridiculous how everybody feels they HAVE to go 10-20 over the limit. At night it's worse, since there are always stupid pedestrians who think it's cool to wear all black and walk their dog and kids in the middle of the road.

You can't see the rest of the traffic? Never used them have you? Head lights are dimmed but I can sure see the traffic behind me. Never had someone behind you with their high beams on?

Can't read? I said "as well."

It's not possible to see the traffic as well with the mirror flipped because you're not seeing the direct image, you're seeing a reflection of the image in the mirror. Yes, that dims headlights so that ones that are blinding are less bright, but everything in the mirror is less bright as well.

Here is a pic of another car of the same model as mine, but running HIDs in the stock reflector housings and are 10k in color. This is probably what you've been seeing that is so annoying.

And, btw, this is the person I mentioned that insists this is "just fine" 🙄

Reflection of the image? You are seeing the same image except the mirror has been angled to reduce the glare. What do you need to see better? You can still see the headlights of any vehicle behind you except now, you're not being blinded.

Take a hand mirror with a light behind you. Look straight into it to see the light behind you. Now, tilt it up/down to reduce the glare. Same thing in the car.

Yep that's how they look when I normally see them. You can actually see it light up the entire area too, as if someone was burning bulk magnesium.
