yep they're terrible. it's like they had a requirement to use as many photoshop filters as possible with as many ugly pastel colors as they could find.

apparently, its really cheap to do...but it is a slightly more complicated system than you suggest. check out the two movies i mention above. at the very least, pretty to look at.

Sounds like successful advertising.

yes, because we hate the commercials we are going to start investing through schwab.

That's not the point. The point is that you remember the commercial and who it was for. It's kinda like the McDonald's "I'm Lovin' It" ads, everyone hates them yet recognizes who they are for right away.

I think they're actually pretty good commericals. I think they would be more successful if they werent so "artsy" i like the visual style, but they talk about investing like its something poetic.

Although they're not perfect,its still interesting to see new things being done on tv.

I will NEVER own a Verizon plan/product because of those goddamn 'can you hear me now' commercials. NEVER. And these new "it's the network" ads are almost as bad. I'll take a sh!tty Cingular network anyday!!

I dislike those Schwab ads, too, but mainly because they appear to be catering to dumbasses. The one where the guy is whining about wanting his broker to give him a "dog meter" to let him know whether or not to sell is a good example. Here's a clue: if you're too lazy to do your due diligence when re-evaluating your portfolio, you probably ought to just dump your money into an index fund.

Oh, and I saw a new McDonald's commercial during one of the NFL games today. It opens with this dumbass saying "Lately, I've been thinking a lot about McDonald's cheeseburgers..." What the hell? The only people I can think of who should be thinking "a lot" about their cheeseburgers are the fry cooks who're making them. If you're not a McDonald's employee and you spend an inordinate amount of time pondering their cheeseburgers, you probably need a hobby or a job.

I recognize both the Mcdonalds ad and the Schwab ad and it doesnt make me wants to use any of their products. Ever. Advertising only works on stupid people.

How did you even find this thread?

It took me this long to think of a reply after I initially saw the thread when it was originally posted. : shrug ;

Those commercials for the airline (can't remember which one) are pretty good imo. Animated very nicely.
