I have to agree. She looks perfectly normal, but in the books Katniss was described as thin due to the lack of food in the Districts.

Judging by those later photos she definitely needs to lose some weight if she wants to continue to star on the big screen.

She seems to be one of those unfortunate souls (like may of us) who

1) have a metabolism that sharply decreases in their early 20s

and

2) shows even moderate weight gain in the face.

Nobody is forcing her into that career.

Transforming your body to match the character is sometimes required if the character has a specific body type.

For things like Silver Lining Playbook, though, she can keep her natural body shape.

Would you rather we televise and film people with the camera weight added and portray a incorrectly fat ideal weight? No, you wouldn't.
