According to a new report-by Congress' Joint Economic Committee the "War on Terror" will cost each of the 141 million Americans who pay taxes $11,347.51.
Let us pretend that hundreds of thousands of lives will not have been lost by the time the war in Iraq and Afghanistan have come to a close assuming of course that they do. Is the cost worth it to you?
Could this money have been spent more wisely?
Let me put another thought on the table.
Let's say the war on terror prevented a terrorist cell from entering the United States and detonating a nuclear device in a major city like New York and saved the lives of 200,000 people.
Would this money still not have served us better by spending it on food?
Could we not have ended world hunger for a decade with 1.6 trillion dollars?
