hey, i posted some of my music here a few months ago and got some awesome feedback! i just posted this new song on my website called "This Isn't The End". Its a kind of a weird song, and i'm really curious what people are going to think about it. So if you listen to it tell me whether you liked it or not. if you have any suggestions on things i need to work on shoot that my way too. i really want to get better.

yea no joke, my mic sucks and i only have one 🙁. if i had some cash i'd try and get a BLUE mic i hear they're pretty sweet. do you have any mic suggestions for under $1000 bucks?
 
Very very nice! I probably wouldn't listen to it again because it was a bit repetitive during the first 2/3. I almost think you could lose that everpresent rolling guitar for a brief period at some point to break it up, but since you're the guy who makes great music and I'm not, take that FWIW. 😉

Oooh no, sorry. But there's lots of forums for just that kind of stuff 🙂

I'm only familiar with the Shure SM58 as being a great value on the budget side, but for $1000 you can do a shitload better.
 
That's not bad at all! The singer has a Bryan Adams thing going on 🙂 Very smooth, well mixed, very good!
 
I think your mixing need to put a little more emphasis on your vocals, I think they get drowned out a bit by the instrumental.

Other than that, awesome stuff, I'd buy a CD 🙂
 
What would be my best bet (meaning free and/or super cheap) way of recording some stuff on my computer? I've got a couple of songs I want to record and send as mp3's to my brother. I tried last night just using a webcam as the mic but it had this super obnoxious buzzing noise. I don't care about super quality, just something that works.

Also I wouldn't say your voice sounds like Bryan Adams. You have more of a Trust Company sound going on.

And hey, where'd the rest of the songs on your website go? I wanted to listen to all of them today at work.

i'm doing some construction on the site, and making a new player for all of my old stuff. check back in a few days.

yea its weird, i write all this acoustic stuff, but when i listen to other people its usually pretty heavy.

thanks!! once i'm happy with the mixes i may put them up for download. after i get a few more songs i'm proud of i'll probably sell an EP album to help raise funds to do a full length one. then hopefully a lable will snag me somewhere along away to help out in marketing.
