See, that's the funny part: I am not in the least bit pissed that my thread got locked. In fact, I expected it would. What I don't expect (and don't appreciate) is that mods/admins are don't follow the same rules that they enforce.

You need to find more subtle ways to break the rules. Some days I get bored and pick a theme and start trolling.

We've discussed it in the past, and lame parodies are locked. None-lame parodies generally aren't. But when there's suddenly a parody outbreak, we just lock them all to stop it in its tracks. i.e. there are 10 parodies of the same topic which only change one word. If the majority of people thought this was a pretty lame attempt, I'd have locked it myself.

Sorry. I'll try to remember to label them "lame parody" from now on.
It's amazing people don't understand why being fuzzy on the rules is necessary. These are the same people who want you to be fuzzy on the rules, AnonymouseUser likely knew posts would get locked but posted it anyways hoping it wouldn't.

Some things just aren't important enough to worry about.

prudent forest management requires sanitation thinning from time to time. we are a wood consuming society. trees are a renewable resource. everything from wiping your rear end when you take a dump to the fence in your yard to that nice fancy hot tub you like to use and the paper you write on or feed into your printer all come from wood.

Now we can be punished for not being funny enough?

That's different.

I find the trend of Admins starting parody threads rather disturbing.

I even seem to recall people getting vacations for posting too many parody threads awhile back.

What if children are playing there when they cut down a tree?

The answer is that if children are playing when someone cuts down a tree, they should be sent to play near an oil well.

Who said anything about being punished? Did you get banned for your lame parody?

Having one's thread locked because you don't find it funny could be regarded as punishment. Or do we have different understanding of the word?

I dunno...I timbered some land a few years ago and make $50,000 off of it...in about 2 more years I should be ready to do it again.
I kind of liked my Season in The Woods as well. I can see how it gets in your blood.
Money isn't bad, and in this case it really does grow on trees!

Speaking of goats. BTW How on EARTH did the fainting gene get passed down? Seems like it would be quickly pruned by natural selection (Though, to much of our enjoyment isn't)

Yes, natural selection would have pruned it out.
But domesticated goats aren't "created" through natural selection, hence it didn't get pruned by natural selection, because humans > natural selection.
