don't know anyone in the TWU, but I can sympathize.
a lot of people on this board thinks it is all about the money, but the TWU said they are willing to go to 3% raises if the MTA would lighten up on disciplinary actions.
Where did you hear this, and what exactly are "discinplinary actions?" Asking the MTA to lighten up on "disciplinary actions" sounds like code word to me for "we want to do bad stuff and get away with it".
Still doesnt fly in my book.
The plain and simple fact is that this strike is absolutely and utterly unjustified. They are ALREADY overpaid! The MTA was offering them an absolutely REASONABLE contract. They are greedy, plain and simple, they are already sh*tty workers, and on top of that, they are holding THE ENTIRE CITY hostage. Its not like an automobile plant going on strike. Half of the city cant get to work!
