This makes Monster (the cable company) look like chump change.

This costs more than that car." He said, heres the speaker cable I got, it's the cheap one, it cost $1000 for the cable. It was about an inch think and probably had enough shielding to make me wonder why they did not simply use individual DAC's in each speaker (only 2 speakers).

Crazy thing is... there was no EQ on the stereo at all. All it had was Bass and Treble.

That's not crazy, that's standard. The most expensive systems only have bass and treble controls because that's all you need.

Axiom of Audio Componentry: The quality of the component is inversely proportional to the number of buttons and flashy lights on the front. 😀

Heh yep that's why I like the front panels of my pre-amps clean as possible. 😀

Here's mine...

More of a straight wire with gain approach. Great for the money. Can be switched between active and passive mode.

I swear the pre-amp is one of the most important parts second only to speakers.

Yep now that's what I mean by being nice and clean. Eventually I want to power my HT with an Adcom GFA-7807. It looks like a beast of an amp.

They dont' post prices on their page for good reason. I think they are above $10,000 for cables...

EDIT they're top end is $23,000 for a speaker cable

Do they pricematch to wal-mart?

Yes but it has to be an equivalent product. This means you will have to find out how much they charge for copper wire, spray paint, and high shine gloss finish which creates a "hyper-acoustical transport" for the sound in the wire so you can hear music that will take you to the stratosphere!

😛

I'd LOVE to have those speakers but $60,000 is just a little out of my price range. 😉

I'm going to save up and go for the Paradigm Reference Studio 100 speakers or if I have the money, go for these Paradigm Signature Series S8 speakers. These aren't cheap either but aren't $60,000 either. 😉

IDK what speakers you are thinking of but the Nautilus' dont cost 60K

Ah I was looking at the price for the UK market...17500 GBP per speaker which translates to roughly $30,000. The speakers are price more "affordably" in the US at just $20,000 per speaker. 😉

Adcoms always had "decent" amps for not too much dough.

If your doing a home theater application you may want to look at using bookshelfs equivently priced as the paradigm 100s. Tough call.

I know if I ever redo my theater I'll be getting bookshelfs/monitors for the mains. I'm lucky though because I have a home theater and a 2 channel system.

Its just so hard to have a music system and home theater combined. You have to make compromises to accomodate both of them.

At first I only wrote Rocket... but it didn't seem to make any difference. Then I saw that you needed the brand name of the speaker written.

The difference was amazing.

I guess really the only people that can afford these cables don't need to worry about money so it's a moot point but WOW...you can send some of that money my way. 😉

*Wishes he were filthy rich after seeing 2 Lamborghinis and a Lotus Elise following each other on the freeway yesterday.
