Wow 85 in winter that's brutal.That comes up to 29C. We rarely even get that in summer, and when we do it's usually an extreme heat advisory. Those are the days that make having A/C totally worth it.

i don't like it. if i was in cali or somewhere that i was used to it and i was near palm trees and beaches, it'd be cool. but when the trees are all dead and no leaves are on them, this shit just don't feel right.

Is that just because most don't have AC? I'd praise jeebus for 85 in the summer, we often get about 20 days of 100+ in DFW.

It's been freezing in CA lately. 60F high dropping into the high 30s in Socal. Doesn't feel right at all with the palm trees.

I'm in SD right now with some family and we have a frost advisory tonight.

Yeah every year this weird unusual weather seems to make leaks or other building issues show up that were never apparent before. All these snow/ice/melt cycles create ice dams and other situations that can cause leaks.

Years back we had rain right in the middle of winter, that's when I found out my foundation and weeping tiles was not doing it's job. Had to get all that dug up and redone. 17k job.

The job itself is not that hard, and the materials arn't that expensive, it's all the excavating that costs a lot. Even if I did it myself, the equipment rentals alone would set me back thousands. Would be fun to play with those toys though, but I don't really want to learn how to use those in a situation that my house is at stake. D:

On that note, we're finally getting some real winter weather today and for the next few weeks if forecast is right. -10C and some proper fluffy snow, and not the crappy wet stuff. A couple cm fell throughout the night. It's like the perfect winter weather. Not too cold and not too hot.
