Racism and nationalism are inherently violent. It's one thing to take pride in who you are and where you came from, it's another thing entirely to believe that who you are and where you came from entitles you to use the power of government to subjugate others, which is what racism and nationalism both seek to do. It is always best that our political leaders speak out against such populist abuses of government power, especially when they are deceitfully disguised as exercises of freedom.

Does the lack of condemnation mean condonation? Should we need officials to give opinions on every bad thing people say? To what end, that’s an unrealistic and absurd position. Did Obama condemn every bad thing said or done in society? Of course not, did that mean he condoned them? Id be Curious if he decried the racist remarks and attitudes towards whites? Yeah when someone is saying things like ‘this judge can’t preside over my case because he’s a Mexican’ that’s not a dog whistle. That’s just straight out, hard core racism.
