I will celebrate this fine thread by gleefully popping a wheelie while rolling through numerous stop signs on my bicycle as I make the short commute home this evening. :)

Don't blame anyone if you get hit.

Bicycle use should be restricted to city limits unless the bike is licensed. Any fees collected in licensing or ticketing are to be directed towards building proper bike lanes on county roads and highways.

oh man, it just gets stupider and more and more wrong. can't wait to get to the next post.

There are asshole cyclists just like asshole drivers. I have no statistics as to if a higher %age of cyclists are assholes, but from my experience they seem to be. It boggles my mind why anybody riding a bike would blow through a stop sign when you're up against thousands of pounds of steel, but I see it all the time.

Now here's another question... if a cyclist stops dead at a stop sign like he should, and then takes off when it's his turn, it's going to take him a while to get through since he has to get back up to speed. Are you going to get mad at him for taking so long to get through the intersection?

I'd rather he take longer to get through the intersection than me T-bone him with my truck. I'd be picking spandex out of my grill for weeks.

I blame a lack of training and licensing requirements.

As a kid we'd just ride wherever we wanted or were able; then growing up no one ever explained that cyclists have to follow the rules of the road too. It wasn't until I got a driver's license that I learned better.

On some level I still think that bicycles are practically being a pedestrian, and I have to fight that instinct so as to not get myself or someone else killed.
