Nobody on AT is an economic mastermind. So why do we debate at all? Why do people with engineering/teaching/english/construction careers debate politics? Because it's not that difficult to figure out. I'm sure you'd love minimum wage to be $30 an hour because you think businesses are an endless supply of money and that all workers everywhere DESERVE and NEED more money.

I live in a very "conservative" town and I don't see the extreme conservatives ever act like that.

The homeless man in probably a liberal. Is he a liberal because hes homeless, or is he homeless because hes a liberal? Most likely its the first, and it's because the conservatives don't have as much to offer him. Now whether or not he is entitled to what the democrats have to offer him is an entirely different matter.
I think the stereotype the OP is referring to is the group of people who think the government should take care of them and that they are entitled to certain commodities in life. Obviously this guy is one of them. These people are liberals, and they are loud and obnoxious and therefore they are much more noticeable than the mainstream democrat. I know of the people the OP is referring to, and i understand how he feels, although liberals is too general of a classification to use in this situation.

This is one of the dumbest posts I've ever read, it just sprang right into liberal vs conservative flaming. All this guy did was mention the world Republicans and his dislike and he's an automatic liberal and speaks for the liberals? That's absolutely ridiculous. There was nothing this guy did that would label him as a liberal (whatever that term defines anyway) but there was plenty that he did to qualify him as a bum (in one sense of the word or another). This thread is nothing more than flame bait with absolutely no point or direction whatsoever. At least you could have called it "This is why I hate bums more than hard working people" and we all could have had a laugh.
