Past Lifer 1957-2014 In Memoriam
Exterior pics of the church and some still pics of the inside and organ. The spire is 240 feet high. The church is massive and really dominates the neighborhood still.😎

Now some rotating panoramas.
Here is the choir, with doors leading to the sacristy (where priests get changed (we the altar boys got changed in a special room down in the church basement).

And here is the main part of the church, where the worshippers assemble. It's called the nave, which in French we call, wait for it... la nef :sneaky: as seen from the crossing/transept.

Here is the view from the pulpit (la chaire). You can see the massive organ at the back of the church. When I first started attending church ~1960-1961, my mom and the rest of us children sat in the balcony as the main floor was packed with people during Sunday mass. Now there are a lot fewer people going to church.

Here is one of the side altars.

We moved when I was 21yo in 1978 but I still recall vividly going to that church for almost two decades. The impressive gothic architecture of the cavernous interior and the booming sound of the huge organ left a profound impression on my young mind. 🙂
