It's only 100k frequent flyer miles to upgrade on a 15.5 hour flight - I only need 25k more and I'm there. Been eye-fucking that 1st class shower for the past 2 years.

That bar though? Open to business class :D

//edit

OOOOOH MY GOD THEY HAVE A DIFFERENT FIRST CLASS BAR.

holy fuck, emirates a380 has 2 different bars.

I don't see the value in spending $60,000 for champagne and caviar, I've never been that hungry or thirsty. Unless the stewardesses are hookers and the overhead bins are filled with blow you're better off sticking to business class.

I'm pretty sure if you're spending money on first class emirates you have more money than you know what to do with.

I dunno about most of that crap, but being able to really stretch out and have a nice snooze on the plane would be about all the luxury I'd need.

First class >>> Businesses class + all other classes.

Back to the line, peasant. :D

Let me see how many points I would need to upgrade to first/business class on United, American, and Delta for my trip to Asia.

like a boss. I got a new business idea for 2016 whose primary purpose is points accumulation. If I can make some money while doing it, that would be nice too.

Yeah, in my life I have never once been on a flight and thought "gee, I wish this plane had a shower".

I've been on many though where it would have been great to force a few of the other passengers to shower.

I would be nervous to go on that... it'd be like being homeless and getting 1 night at the white house.

I couldn't go back.

Seriously. Use my frequent flyer miles once in a while for a first class upgrade and it's hella depressing the next flight and you're back in a coach cattle car (especially when you're 6' 4"). I imagine Emirates first class opulence would ruin me for good.

When I see photos like that, I always wonder.......turbulence?

How is there not a mixture of champagne, caviar, and shattered glass all over the floor every few hours? Magnets on every surface and dish?

This. Or christ, at least seats that don't make everything hurt.
Rear end, back, neck, everything that makes contact. These seats were not designed for someone equipped with a standard-issue human skeleton.

Yes, Emirates has a fully stocked bar of top shelf liquor and fruit just for First Class passengers. I actually never saw another passenger at the bar.
Of course not. They smelled poverty, poor man. :p

I wonder if any of those people expect hefty tips from wealthy travelers.

Oh well, I can always hope for some really lofty perks:
- TSA Precheck.
- Airport lounge access, maybe?
- The big seats on Spirit Airlines.

Just curious what's the longest flight you've been on or longest you've travelled? When I went to Tanzania it was well over 24 hours of traveling, from Denver, when you add in layovers. A shower was one of the only things I could think about, along with somewhere comfortable to sleep.

They should start an airlines which offers H&BJ at 40k feet, that will be a very profitable business. Ticket prices are same for everyone, you just pay for the place and company once you are on-board.

As cool as that is, if I was in a position where it's no big deal to pay that much for a single one time event, I'd probably be in the position to buy my own plane, and then do this as often as I want.
