This is probably one of the greatest games to come out this year and no one here is talking about it. It came out a few days ago and I´v been playing it alot. It is rather harder than previous games but that only makes it better 🙂

I´m playing romans now, I´m highest in technology and culture but I lack cities, nearly all the space in the world is gone so I´m now fighting the japanese and taking cities from them. But damn stupid people dont want a war anymore and I think I´m forced to make peace with the japanese. Also it takes damn to long to transport units to the front line so I´m not sure if I can keep this war thing going.

So, anyone else playing?

What's rubbish? If you're not the civilization type, you probably won't enjoy the new one either.
 
Playing Xenogears, no time for civ3!! I have to beat Xenogears before XenoSaga comes out, so I'm all caught up on the plot. Can't believe I skipped this game when it originally came out.
 
xenogears is probably the most amazing game i've ever played....too bad my 1st disc got lost 🙁, i'm gonna rent it, and copy it, then boot w/ the second disc and swap the disc when it prompts me too, and i HOPE that works cus that game is awesome, man the second disc is just awesome, the story just boggles your friggin mind. way better than any book i've ever read (that doesnt say much though), or any movie i've ever seen.

This game is sooooo addicting. I'm playing with the Greeks right now, but since my other two bro's are also addicted (and playing different worlds), there's no much time left to advance in my game ... and besides, there's a whole Internet world to browse. My main problem is getting resources. My continent doesn't have iron or coal!!! I have to rely on trades, and that's not a good thing. :!

Oh well ... time to go back to my addiction ... 😱😎
 
i dunno... i kind of like the feel of civ2 better. everything was better organized in my opinion. and it only took up like 50 megs. not like 700
 
civ3 came out on the 30th.

Anyway, I was lucky, my place had ONE iron place that totaly saved me, then I found a saltpeter place at the edge of the Egyptian border so I just moved a settler there and made a town there, then I had to build a road all the way to my capital to be able to use it. By that time i had invented nationalism so I can build riflemen, dont need saltpeter anymore. I have no horses, now I need oil for railroads, none found so far. Its a total biach.
 
I've been waiting for a review, and my blasted 8500 from dell. Is it a 2d game, or is a 3d card a must?
 
MUST have OpenGL for some reason 🙂 Though I don't know why.

I like it so far. ol Abe Lincoln and other people want to give me their precious world map for my invention or engineering discovery. No thanks, I'll fill out my map as I run my troops all over your city.
 
much harder than previous civ games.

it runs like crap on my computer, so i guess i wait for upgrade time. 🙂
 
Yeah, Civ3 is seriously laggy on my comp. The movement of units is far from smooth as they traverse across squares. Map scrolling is also incredibly laggy.

My system: P3-800, 512mb, win2k, geforce2 gts 64mb.
 
same here, map scrolling is slow, but I think it is supposed to be like that, dont know why. After a while it just seems normal. The rest is fast though, except when you end a turn and the computer has to process everything.
 
Just got it today, but haven't played it much.
