Do not forget about the people he warned about a potential problem. They are just as bad for alerting the FBI when someone offered them help.

<< why not go catch people who do real crimes like kill people rather then cyber sh|t...? >>

While I agree that what the FBI is doing is complete and utter bullsh!t, I disagree with your post. "Why don't you go and catch a REAL criminal, like a killer or something?" is a phrase constantly used against police officers. People are always bascially tellin cops to fsck off when they get pulled over for a ticket or something, and are told the above.

You don't have to kill someone to be a criminal, or a violator of the law.

Something similar to this happened to a friend of mine, but he didn't get prosecuted. Either way...this is total BS. Stuff like this wouldn't happen if people actually understood the technology. The judge and jury at the case won't understand it, and the prosector will make it sound like he hacked the site so he could edit it, and they'll all believe it, meaning he'll get screwed. Gah :(

I wouldn't let these agents mow my lawn. The level of their incompetence is stunning. Why do I expect a higher level of intelligence from the FBI then I do from the people working the drive-thru window at McDonalds?

You know what's pathetic? If someone would have taken advantage of this and had defaced the site, NOTHING WOULD HAVE HAPPENED TO THEM. Someone does a good deed and gets in sh*t for it. f*cked up world i tell ya...
