We all judge people by our own particular standards.

By my standards I believe this particular person, the Pope, should rot in the Hell he believed in so fervently because of his indifference to the suffering of countless children.

The fact that he is a Pope is irrelevant, he is just another sack of flesh and bones who had the power and authority to prevent the suffereing of uncountable children.

No, I do not respect him or his death.

its not about judgements, standards, or opinions. its about knowing when to say your piece or just let it go. about having the honor, decency, discipline and maturity to know the difference. no one has to respect anyone, but its a measure of someones character to know when to let loose or hold back. just beacuse you can think it and say it doesnt mean you should, unless you really just dont care about anyone at all and have the need to make yourself feel better at others expense.

 as well

Honest criticism is one thing. Varacious, selfish, and antagonist showmanship is something that should always be considered deplorable.

I really never meant to tell people to show respect, but perhaps, to show courtesy and restraint. It is quite easy to see the agregious flaws of the catholic church and its history, but now is not a time for insults.

If you don't like him or his organization, just let the man die.....not in peace, or celebrationbut in slince.

Pretty much. But I don't expect any better from these forums. There are so many different types of people here, and some some of them happen to be jerks. Such is life.

I am not a religious man, and I cannot even begin to understand what that man has or hasn't done in his life. That said, whether it was the Pope, as it is, or some crack whore from Jersey, I would either show them some respect or STFU. All disrespect shows is that we are perpetuating humanities shortcomings, defaulting to pestulance and mockery, riding the coattails of our idiotic media to no conclusive end.

Look before we start the group hug here, I want to say that to say that mocking the Pope here is "not letting him die in peace" is ludicrous. I never go out of my way to hurt someone's feelings, but being mean is FUNNY. REAL f-ing funny. I say that this IS the place to have a little fun, where no one who matters will get hurt.

I know :( but some people aren't joking.

Look at the Terry Shaivo Case. Some people were calling the husband a murder and a disgrace, calling Gov. Jeb bush a coward, calling each other Nazi's.....competent argumentative talk want out the window.

God know I hate Hitler, but if it were to come to having me say what I feel about him, it would remain my prerogative to give the most eloquent and yet damning testimony possible....not a simple 'fvk you'

Also, for the record, I am not an atheist or whatever....honestly, I don?t know what I am.

i enjoy the uncertainty, and find some solace in the fact that life might one day reveal a truth that I can fully accept as my own on the subject. Until then, the verdict is not in on the matter....

Yeah, seriously. There are some things to joke about but a religious leader like the Pope is not one of them.

Oh please, if people can believe the Pope was teh best man teh wurld, then why can't others despise his guts?

Also, not everyone subscribes to your brand of behavior and morality, so kindly, please STFU yourself :).

misplaced anger? religion is stupid :p. We *could* have a debate over this, but I'm more for pointing out the fact that you classify anyone who is being anti-religious as "kids that need to grow up". Well I'm saying that religions IS stupid, and that you don't need to "be a kid" in order to believe that.

Why don't you grow up? Not everyone who has a dissenting worldview is automatically 13, you know.

dissenting opinion is different than wishing someone to die

You're being seen as a child because any adult with any speck of maturity would not say a religion is "stupid", they would say they don't agree with <insert what ever aspects of religion not agreed with>. Your post was made just to anger people.

It astoundes me sometimes how immature and ignorant many of the users here really are.

I hope that he has a peaceful and painless death, just like I wish for every one.
