I don't think you need this arrogant shut-in American to help you utilize the Googlez. :rolleyes: :sneaky:

But I will be humble and assist:

It's not a genuine Mensa test... it's a quiz. I doubt I would qualify for Mensa as I have done IQ tests when I was younger. I've heard Mensas have to be 150+?

It was 140 back in the day. Don't know what it is now.

It's everywhere in culture. Even if you didn't grow up hearing it from time to time (I grew up in a military family and they like to bark orders to be funny), I can't believe that any adult hasn't seen it in a book, movie, on television, somewhere.

Maybe I should say common knowledge?

Ok yea common knowledge is a better way to say it cus you don't hear people saying it in their everyday communications.

Yes, they do move in the same transition. However, since you don't have a second clue to give you this transitional direction for the dot in the triangle, you must assume there is a pattern to be gleaned from the top two. The only one would be clockwise transition that I can see.

You can not assume the dot being closest to the left means it is going in that direction... the first clue (+ in the box) invalidates this.

You missed my edit.

I just took the quiz. I'm pretty sure I'm not MENSA material, even if I am close... I got all the questions right, except for one obvious question where I misread the question, and the two anagrams (I'm TERRIBLE at anagrams).

Post haste is not uncommon - but what has that got to do with anything? They're not asking you to identify common words, are they?

No, but the IMPLIED test is to find a link of commonality. Thus, in order to arrive at the answer "post", one must assume all 5 words are at least readily reference-able in the language.

You would not, for example, use this test for words like "perinatal, supra orbital, phenobarbital, or other "trade" words that would only be selectively learned depending on your choice of study in higher education.

That would then be a test of arbitrary vocabulary, which I would have to question the relevance for assessing IQ.

FFS dude, everyone else in this thread is familiar with those words, even if they're not commonly used. Just face it, you're not that smart. And of course all of those words are easily and readily reference-able, whatever the fuck you mean by that.

Nope, I'm not that smart, but smart enough to use Googlez. :rolleyes:

So you can shove your postbags and postboxes back to the postcodes in New Zealand where they belong. :awe:

Postbags... Haha, I can think of another meaning to this word it should have.

Their standard is 98th percentile. On an IQ test with a standard deviation of 15 an IQ of 150 would put you... you should know the answer to this.

(Something in the range of 99.9x%)

MENSA is the female form of menso which in spanish means stupid man.

Therefore mensa members are stupid women...to me, anyway ;)

I tried the test. I cannot do anagrams to save my life, of which there were two. I got the other 28 questions correct.

Parachute was the first one. I didn't even know what the word was for the second one (even after it was solved, I was like "wtf?").

OR...

Postbox = Mail Box

and

Postcode = PO BOX #?

Your own imagination seems to be lacking. Probably wouldn't even dream of Mensa.

Wat.

Postbox = Mail Box

and

Postcode = Post Offce Box. <-- HOW DOES 'CODE' FIT IN HERE!?

lulz. i'd love to see how you address letters

"TO:
MARY SMITH OF USA
SHE LIVES ON DWIGHT ST.
HER PO BOX CODE IS 00123
CELL #: 1-526-9443"

also, for everyone else watching: the tests on the mensa site are aimed at retards, as that is how they make most of their money these days. lots of 'tards take the quiz, think theyre hot shit, and pony up the $50 (or whatever it is now) to apply. they never pass the actual test, of course.
