My girlfriend likes Italian Opra a lot and I want to get some stuff to put on a cd. It doesn even have to be italian, but I know that is her favorite. I would like to have a cd for her the next time we do something alone. So for anyone that can help thanks

I'll ask my girlfriend, she knows about this kind of stuff. She had a favourite opera, but I just can't recall it's name... damn!

EDIT: Of course, it's 5.40am in here, so I can't ask right away.

Well my girl likes a lot but that is just one of many things she mentioned when she was talking to her friend before a movie, I over heard it and I want to capitalize on it.

<< PIcs of what, my girlfriend? I dont have a scanner so I cant put anything up >>

lol, just performing an ATOT tradition of asking for pics when someone posts something like this. You don't have to, although I heard it's a "Golden Rule" around here 😉

Somebody get this man a scanner! 😀

Oh, and answer his question too, it's muy importante! Someone's gotta know...

Go for anything by Verdi. Look specifically for La Traviata, Aida, and La Forza Del Destino. The overture to La Forza, while without words, is a very powerful piece of music. Any opera fan should be able to recognize it right away. Hope that helps.

Right now Im looking for just about any opera, I will sort it out later. So thanks

Edit:Extra thanks to VirusDub

If you get desperate and can't find enough Italian opera, go for Wagner. It's German opera and quite a different style, but it's still gorgeous stuff. A few suggestions: Die Walkure (The Valkyries), Siegfried, Das Rheingold, and Gotterdammerung. Good luck!

Well I asked my girlffriend. She couldn't help much, because she was in an emotional state of mind (read: upset with me). But she does like the "Notre-Dame de Paris". Altrough she did say it's not 100% "real" opera, but close.

For Italian opera you have to go with stuff by Puccini. Here are two really good ones.

"Nessun Dorma" from the opera Turandot, one of my favorites 🙂
"Che Gelida Manina" from La Boheme, one of the most famous and beautiful arias ever written.

Try to get performances by Pavarotti, especially the first one. That's kind of his trademark song.
