So I've been trying to track down Lullabies To Paralyze by Queens of the Stone Age on vinyl for awhile but since it's out of print it's a bit tough.

Well tonight my local shop called and said they finally found a near mint used copy they could sell me, great right?

I buy it despite it having a really weird cover, definitely not like it should be but it looked legit.

I get it home and open it.. it has 3 letters in it. One is a handwritten note from Josh Homme (lead singer/guitar/only constant member of QOTSA) thanking the record company for their support, another is from the record company itself thanking a random dealer for their continued support and congratulating them on being selected as the recipient of a very rare limited edition press of the album only sent to their best dealers!

It's printed on two different colored waxes and the different cover is because of the very rare pressing. I'm not sure if they decided to change the cover or what but I'm fucking jazzed about this find!

Best part, it was 30 bux and probably worth a shitload more. Good thing I don't care about that and it's getting spun right now as we speak 🙂

Sounds like a pretty big win to me. I don't know if I could spin it, though. I think I'd leave it alone/mint and go rustle up another copy for listening.

The only thing that could have made it better is if you had found one of Josh Homme's flaming red pubes inside folded up inside the letter.

That's a pretty sweet find! Especially for that price. With cool stuff like that, I'd try to buy the regular print LP and then get a records frame and have them mounted side-by-side (but still accessible for when you want to listen). Nice talking point at parties.
 
Yeah I can understand the concerns about using it but my philosophy is that things were meant to be used. I'd never sell this to anyone anyway, might as well get enjoyment out of it. To each his own 🙂

When I opened it up to check the quality the lad behind the counter and I just stared at each other in silence for a few seconds and then I was like... I'll take it and he's like right, I would too man.
